2.1 Acres in Hillsborough, New Hampshire $40,000 🇺🇸

in Homesteading2 years ago

This morning I stumbled upon this beautiful 2.1 acres of forest and streams in Hillsborough New Hampshire …

Looks like a very nice area, especially in Autumn. Actually all of New England and the Northeast of the US and Canada are beautiful this time of year. So many wonderful places to live. How do you choose just one ?

If you crave a natural setting for your new home, here's a spot for you. Depending on where you site the home and how much you clear, you'll could have a pleasant view of the hills beyond the brook, and your lot will be dotted with picturesque boulders, birch, evergreens, and deciduous trees that will positively glow in the Autumn. This lot has a shared access driveway with an individual drive branching off (cleared in 2005, slightly overgrown now). Bog Road is a class V road maintained by the town, and these lots lie between Fox Forest (1,445 acres and 20 miles of trails) and the Farrar Marsh State Wildlife Management Area, so hiking, biking, xc skiing, and snowmobiling are right in your neighborhood.

This stone arch bridge is located in nearby Hillsborough ….

This particular bridge dates back to approximately 1840. The bridge was named after Captain Jonathan Carr, who was a counterfeiter and would stuff some of his money into new bridges he was helping to build. A very interesting story.

About Hillsborough :

Welcome to the Town of Hillsborough, a Town with an abundant history beginning in the early 18thcentury. Hillsborough is still today made up of four villages: Hillsborough Bridge Village (is our downtown), Hillsborough Center, Hillsborough Upper Village and Hillsborough Lower Village.

Hillsborough has many attributes to be proud of including two remarkable historic areas in the Center and Lower Villages, Fox Forest, more preserved stone arch bridges than any other town in New Hampshire, lakes and river-ways and the Franklin Pierce Homestead, the home of the fourteenth President of the United States - Franklin Pierce.

Location is quite amazing
But how free is it from wildlife?
One has to put some considerations I guess 🤔

Yes …

Lots of possible Wildlife here …

New Hampshire’s forests and mountain areas are home to coyotes, bobcats, red foxes, gray foxes, and wolves. These nocturnal predators hunt white-tail deer, rabbits, mice, and other small wild critters. Black bears and moose also live in the forests.

There are many small wild mammals in New Hampshire’s hills and forests. It is common to see snowshoe hares, southern bog lemmings, northern bog lemmings, American martens, and smoky shrews. You will see common small wild creatures like raccoons, opossums, and skunks, but you’ll also spot some strange creatures like porcupines, southern flying squirrels, and fishers.

That's quite allot of them
But aren't they a threat to humans around?

Maybe. But good for food also

I like that mindset 😁😁✌️
