The Sumatran elephant is one of the endemic animals that is owned by an island called Sumatra. One of the islands that is part of the territory of Indonesia. This animal is not only unique about its enormous posture. However, there are many things that we can find and get from these large mammals that are not found in other animals in general. These animals are in highland habitats to valleys in a forest because it is an ideal place for Sumatran elephants to find food.

The following are some interesting facts about the Sumatran elephant:

  • Has great posture
  • Living in groups in large numbers
  • Each group is led by a female elephant
  • Have a high memory level
  • Includes animals that have a long home range every day
  • Animals that have a long gestation age at 24 months
  • Dubbed as the animal that improves the forest because every time he walks, he releases dirt containing new plant seeds

Maybe here are some interesting facts about the Sumatran elephant. Although these animals are very interesting and have a lot of benefits for the environment and the sustainability of forest ecosystems, these animals still receive many threats, both from poaching and the threat of forest ecosystems. So as to make this animal more and more days the population is drastically increasing. With that, let us both care for and protect each other for the survival of the Sumatran elephant, either directly or indirectly. But let us together be determined to protect and protect the Sumatran elephant and their habitat.
