Today I want to share with you some photos from a beautiful restuarant in Mauritius called Domaine Anna. I have been here twice but the photos here are from my second visit in April this year. The restaurant is located on the west coast in the small village of Flic-en-Flac. This part of Mauritius is famous for its long stretch of white, sandy beach with lots of hotels and resorts.
Domaine Anna opened in December 2002 and in 2005 the International Federation of Tourism awarded the restaurant a trophy called the «Trophy of Baguette d'Or» for its exquisite gastronomy. After being here twice, I feel it still has great food and it has managed to maintain its charming atmophere. It's not only the food that is excellent, so is the service. This beautiful setting might give an idea of being expensive. But it is affordable compared with what you get.
The restaurant is devided into several sections where the food can be served. The main area is inside, but you can chose to sit under the veranda or the most romantic place in the garden. As you see, there are these small pavillions in the pond. Wooden boardwalks connects these to the main part of the restaurant. If you visit on a Friday or a Saturnight, you will be entertained by local musicians. I did experiense that in November 2021. An elderly gentleman was performing singing well known songs. This was at a time when the world was still affected by Covid-19. It was mandatory wearing a mask, all the museums on the island was closed. The Omicron had just appeared and it made us afraid that Europe would close the airports to the arrival of flights from Mauritius. We were going home two weeks later. But an evening here with family, good food, wonderful surroundings and entertainment with old Frank Sintra songs made us forget everything about Covid.
