Welcome to my blog; today I am going to show you the growth process of a flower that I managed to capture in my backyard while it was growing; I have not yet identified what type it is or what it is called but of all the ones I have published I think this is the slowest to grow since I took the photos for several days until it was ready.
I had already seen it in bloom on occasion but had not noticed the process it goes through as it grows. When I realized that a flower was on its way it was barely a bud. The next day I went out to the yard but it had not yet started so I waited another day and when I saw it again I could already identify a red color as if it were candy; also the petals were already forming and could be seen clearly.
The strangest thing about this flower is that although it looks like a cairn for many insects I did not see any of them perched on it; at that moment a wasp landed on one of the leaves so I had to stand still while it was there because it had a very intimidating appearance and by the color of its tail and the way it waved it; I thought it might be annoyed for some reason so I better wait for it to go on its way. But at no time did she approach the flower.
The next day the petals had already gained a little more size; the weather was helping a lot as it received sunlight in the morning and during the day it rained. The insects are still not approaching.
After another day the petals began to open; that day it rained at night and in the morning it received its good rays of morning sun and for the first time I saw some insects but these were perched on the petals and were not of the pollinator type.
Another day passes and life continues to favor it; it is sunny and beautiful again; the open petals are beginning to turn a reddish color and are losing the yellow of the previous day; the center of the flower now looks more like a freshly baked cake.
Finally we can appreciate the flower in its entirety; its caramel red and carmine colors look great as well as the little flowers inside; a curious detail indeed. The pollinating insects, butterflies and others never came close which is quite intriguing since there are many in the surroundings and even a hummingbird passed by and wanted to stop but then decided to go on its way. Bienvenidos a mi blog; hoy les voy a mostrar el proceso de crecimiento de una flor; que logre capturar en mi patio mientras crecía; todavía no he identificado que tipo es ni cómo se llama pero de todas las que he publicado creo que esta es la más lenta para crecer ya que tome las fotos durante varios días hasta que estuvo lista.
Ya la había visto florecida en alguna ocasión pero no me había percatado del proceso por el que pasa mientras crece. Cuando me di cuenta que venía en camino una flor apenas era un botón. Al día siguiente salí al patio pero todavía no había comenzado por lo que espere un día más y cuando volví a verla ya se podía identificar un color rojo como si de caramelo se tratase; además ya los pétalos se estaban formando y se podían ver claramente.
Lo más extraño de esta flor es que a pesar que se ve como un majar para muchos insectos no alcance a ver ninguno posado en ella; en ese momento aterrizo una avispa en una de las hojas por lo que tuve que quedarme inmóvil mientras estuvo allí ya que tenía una apariencia bastante intimidante y por el color de su cola y la forma como la agitaba; pensé que podía andar molesta por alguna razón así que mejor espere que siguiera su camino. Pero en ningún momento se acercó a la flor.
Al día siguiente ya lo pétalos habían ganado un poco más de tamaño; le estaba ayudando mucho el clima ya que recibía la luz del sol en la mañana y en el transcurso del día le llovía. Siguen sin acercarse los insectos.
Transcurrido otro día los pétalos comenzaron abrir; ese día le llovió en la noche y en la mañana recibió sus buenos rayos de sol matutinos y por primera vez vi algunos insectos solo que estos estaban posados en los pétalos y no eran del tipo polinizador.
Pasa otro día y la vida la sigue favoreciendo amanece nuevamente soleado y hermoso; ya los pétalos abiertos comienzan a tornarse de un color rojizo y van perdiendo el amarillo del día anterior; el centro de la flor ahora sí que parece un majar más específicamente un Pound cake recién horneado.
Finalmente podemos apreciar la flor en su totalidad; sus colores rojos y carmín acaramelados se ven geniales al igual que las pequeñas florecillas en su interior; detalle bastante curioso por cierto. Los insectos polinizadores, mariposas y otros nunca se acercaron lo cual es bastante intrigante ya que hay muchos en los alrededores y hasta un colibrí paso a su lado quiso detenerse pero luego decidió seguir su camino. Bueno amigos ha sido un gusto compartir esta secuencia de fotos con ustedes les deseo que tengan una linda mañana, tarde o noche según sea su ubicación.
