Visiting Traditional Sweet Shops in a Village Fair

in CCHlast year

Assalamualaikum. A few weeks ago I went to a fair. This fair was held in the area called Aftabganj, which is located in Phulbari Upazila. Many sweet shops were observed in the fair and various types of sweets were available in the shops. Sweets were one of the attractions of this fair.

I have seen many more fairs. But, the abundance of sweet shops at the Aftabganj fair was not seen even for a moment in any other fair.

Sweets are one of the favorite foods of Bengalis. Bengalis like to smile first on hearing any festival, wedding, or happy news. And so sweet or dessert is our tradition. The tradition of this fair is a variety of sweets. Sweets are round, flat, and of various shapes. What is more interesting is that the shops did not have any food except sweets. There were some light snacks without sweets, like nimki.

Too much time had passed to take pictures of the sweet shop. As the fair is very big, there was no time to try any sweets in the rush to explore the whole fair. I just took pictures. A sweetmaker asked to take a picture of the sweet after seeing it being photographed. I took a picture of him and showed him the picture. Perhaps no one has photographed him like this before.

I like the behavior of the shopkeepers at this fair. They are village people and they don't mind if someone takes their picture, they enjoy it. So taking pictures may be good for them. But if you take a photo of a sweet shop in the city, you may be asked why you are taking a photo.

Anyway, seeing sweets and sweet shops is a lifesaver. I have shared many pictures of sweets and sweet shops with you. Comment on how the pictures turned out. Thanks, everyone.
