Empire Mine State Park, Grass Valley. CA. | Learn From Old Life

in CCH4 years ago

Last Saturday, we walked around the Empire Mining State Park, which is a protected historical mine and now becomes a park that everyone can get in with $5 fees to learn and find out out how they did such hard work with limited safety.

James W. Marshall in 1848 found GOLD by the creek in Coloma, that's when everyone came and started the California Gold Rush.
The fact that what we learn from old life to newer technology is more easier and more safer in all kinds of way. People seem pouring with their idea, invented and modernized things. For example, Elon Musk with his beyond idea to mine gold in Asteroids. I do believe him, usually whatever he says will be real.

Side of clubhouse. I imagine that all miners gathered in their free time at the dance floor to unwind from their hard and danger work in the mine yard with no idea if they'll live for tomorrow as they worked 367 miles and reaching the depth 11,000 feet underground.

The Generation Of Service, Oyang House.

Three generations of the Oyang family lived in this house, they worked for the Star family in many kind of jobs then later for Newmont Mining Corporations in the mine.

Geung and Gum Ming Oyang came from China in 1800's. Geung's son, George and his wife lived in this house after mine closed as a caretaker until the California State bought for $1,250,000 in 1975.

The pictures below are various sites of warehouses, welding shop site, machine shop, shaft viewing area.

I was talking to this nice guy, he told me he was trained to do that.
He loves doing what he's doing now as a new activity since he retired, he also told me that he's been working there for only 3 years.
And by the way, he was making a heart shape for a keychain.

The Gas Station

Contains LEAD, one of the dangerous chemicals we often heard. Luckily leaded fuel is banned since so long ago, but still use this day in car batteries.
Look for Pb symbol in anything if you curious, especially if you are weight lifter or diver (your belt may contain Pb).

In the end, it's up to us decide what should our money invest in. There are a lot of opportunities to keep our money growing, there is stock market, real estate by buying houses and get some equity.
Or in gold? Clearly, as the price in the picture above giving us an image to calculate how much and how far Gold gives us value over time.
Or of course invest and make big bucks and pay huge tax with our crypto currency? As we are all crypto enthusiasts, I bet we have all learned a lot from our loss to gain more.

Love old mining stuff like that! Thanks for sharing 😎

Thank you for passing by, I'm not sure how far from your place.
There is a trail for family to explore n hike outside the mansion and usually there will be a Christmas decoration after Thanksgiving.

The pictures are beautiful.
People don't seem to visit around there that much.

Thanks, there were few few of them including young guys that seemed so curious with the old mine machines.

Yeah... Hearing that gold was once mined from there would attract me definitely.
