¡Hola, hola, mis amores!
Hoy quiero aprovechar este día para contarles que el pasado jueves 14 de este mes, el Centro de Estudios Caribeños ofreció un conversatorio sobre el papel de la mujer en el teatro. Este conversatorio llevó por nombre: La mujer en Tablas: Relatos y Testimonios en el Caribe Oriental Venezolano.
La invitación a esta actividad se extendió a todas aquellas personas interesadas en el teatro, la música, la actuación, dirección y todo lo que tenga que ver con las artes dramáticas y también para aquellos que, simplemente, quieran acercarse a estos temas.
Así que, me alisté y me acerqué al lugar que, por cierto, se desarrolló en La Casa Museo Andrés Eloy Blanco, a la que los invito a visitar y disfrutar de las diferentes actividades que allí se realizan.
Yo llegué un poco tarde perdiéndome la primera ponencia y casi terminando la segunda, pero tuve la oportunidad de escuchar las otras tres, lo cual fue bastante gratificante e impactante, ya que, nuestras invitadas haciendo gala de sus talentos, no regalaron una muestra de su trabajo.
No tengo palabras para describir el trabajo que estas mujeres nos regalaron, pero puedo decir que cosas como estas dejan en alto el papel de la mujer en cualquier espacio.
Cada relato nos permitió acercarnos a los inicios de estas mujeres, sus desafíos, su aprendizaje y también los obstáculos que tuvieron que superar para alcanzar sus metas. Para ellas, tomar la decisión de convertirse en actrices no fue fácil, porque, siempre escucharon cosas como "Te vas a morir de hambre" o "Ese no es un trabajo para mujeres de bien".
Pensamientos que lejos de alejarlas de su pasión, más bien las acercó a ese camino. También nos contaron algunas anécdotas, sus primeros pasos, entre otras cosas. Noté que, pese a todas las cosas ajenas que pudieran afectar su carrera, estás mujeres mantienen intacto su amor al teatro e invitan a los más jóvenes que tengan el deseo de actuar a acercarse a los espacios existentes para desarrollar su talento.
Sin duda, esta fue una jornada maravillosa que, aunque llegué un poco tarde, fue una oportunidad para acercarme a mujeres con una gran trayectoria en el teatro con tanto que aportar, contar y enseñar a todos.

Hello, hello, my loves!
Today I want to take this day to tell you that last Thursday 14 of this month, the Center for Caribbean Studies offered a discussion on the role of women in the theater. The name of the discussion was: Women in Tablas: stories and testimonies in the Venezuelan Eastern Caribbean.
The invitation to this activity was extended to all those interested in theater, music, acting, directing and everything that has to do with the dramatic arts and also for those who simply want to approach these topics.
So, I got ready and went to the place which, by the way, took place in the Andrés Eloy Blanco House Museum, which I invite you to visit and enjoy the different activities that take place there.
I arrived a little bit missing the first lecture and almost finishing the second, but I had the opportunity to listen to the other three, which was quite gratifying and impressive, since our guests, showing off their talents, gave us a sample of their work.
I have no words to describe the work that these women gave us, but I can say that things like these leave high the role of women in any space.
Each story allowed us to get closer to the beginnings of these women, their challenges, their learning and also the obstacles they had to overcome to reach their goals. For them, making the decision to become actresses was not easy, because they always heard things like "You will starve to death" or "This is not a job for good women".
Thoughts that, far from taking them away from their passion, brought them closer to that path. They also told us some anecdotes, their first steps, among other things. I noticed that, despite all the extraneous things that could affect their career, these women keep intact their love for theater and invite the younger ones who have the desire to act to approach the existing spaces to develop their talent.
Undoubtedly, this was a wonderful day that, although I arrived a little late, was an opportunity to approach women with a great trajectory in the theater with so much to contribute, to tell and to teach everyone.
