I found this caterpillar eating young lime leaves in the garden above our house. I tried to pick it up and put it on the ceramic table to see how it moved.
Based on several references that I searched on Google this type of caterpillar has the name Papilio Memnon Larva, which often attack citrus plants.
When disturbed, this caterpillar will emit an unpleasant odor and it is very pungent when I smell my hand after holding it. It turns out that the smell is a caterpillar's self-protection from predators. I really didn't mean to eat it.
After getting enough food, this caterpillar or so-called Larva will turn into a cocoon and stick to the tree for a month. Then the cocoon will release an adult Papilio Memnon butterfly.
I recorded these photos using the ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M1 Mobile camera and slightly edited them in the lighting and cropping sections.
