Reminisce

So I woke up this morning and after my usual routine of giving thanks and checking some news platforms I began to reminisce on past events. One stood out...

I was in 100level (Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State. Nigeria) about a decade ago and I had a roommate who was also my family-friend – We stayed off campus.

Anyway I attended a boarding school (secondary school) prior university days so I had gotten accustomed to going to school with provisions and also uncooked food.
My roommate only resumed with uncooked food which was quite little compared to how much she ate. We cooked together but I took my provision alone although she had access to it as well.

On this faithful day, I noticed my Milk container which I had just opened was empty in about a week. (P.S: I took it just once) I was livid. But I was never one to approach delicate events hastily so I brought out another tin of milk —unopened.

I got back from campus the next day and guess what I found out, my roommate has opened the tin of milk—Ah!
I tried to calm down and let her get back from lectures then asked if she was the one that 'cut' (opened the foil covering of) my milk that I literally just placed there the day before. She said yes, and that it was because she had a fast. So she had to break with tea—ah!🙆

I was thinking, 'what kind of human being is this?' I had still not learned my lesson.

I didn't touch the milk but I know she consumed it as fast as she opened it but I didn't bother to replace the milk...

2weeks later, her boyfriend came visiting for about a week and I had to leave the room and when the guy left I discovered he brought provisions; milk, cereal, pack of biscuits. I was glad!

Long story short, I went for lecturers the following day and when I got back to the room in the afternoon, my roommate had packed the provisions her boyfriend bought (we usually placed it in a trolley basket) and put it in her box and locked it up. (I knew because I caught her one day taking cereal out of the box as I entered the room)

I didn't say a word but that was the last time my provision was placed in my trolley basket.
I can't shout!😪😣
