Could it be that in these times, where miserable uncertainty seems to play hide-and-seek with reason and where, more than ever, labels tend to be the thrown weapon of mediocrity, the same thing happens to me as to the famous character of Gaya Nuño, the endearing Santero of San Saturio and I also like to go up to Numancia when the wind blows and shakes the bloody petals of the first poppies, to remember, in these ruined solitudes of Numantia, those prodigious events, where the pride of a people was able to sacrifice oneself on the always honorable altars of Freedom.
It matters little or nothing if today, the new generations, fed up with the world of cyber-fantasy, in which they remain happily prisoners, as Orwell warned, recognize the symbol that always meant the immeasurable Numantine feat. But, for those of us who are still more or less clear about who we are and where we come from, the spirit of Numancia always sweetens our path, making us move forward with optimism, attached to the pride and resilience of an immortal race.
Será que en estos tiempos que corren, donde la miserable incertidumbre parece que juega al escondite con la razón y donde, más que nunca, las etiquetas suelen ser el arma arrojadiza de la mediocridad, me ocurra lo mismo que al famoso personaje de Gaya Nuño, el entrañable Santero de San Saturio y a mí también me guste subir a Numancia cuando el viento sopla y agita los pétalos sanguinos de las primeras amapolas, para recordar, en estas arruinadas soledades numantinas, aquellos prodigiosos hechos, donde el orgullo de un pueblo, fue capaz de sacrificarse en los siempre honrosos altares de la Libertad.
Poco o nada importa, si hoy en día, las nuevas generaciones, ahítas en el mundo de ciber-fantasía, en el que permanecen felizmente prisioneros, como bien advirtió Orwell, reconocen el símbolo que significó siempre la inconmensurable gesta numantina. Pero, para quienes todavía tenemos más o menos claro, quiénes somos y de dónde venimos, el espíritu de Numancia nos endulza siempre el camino, haciéndonos avanzar con optimismo, apegados al orgullo y resiliencia de una raza inmortal.

No. It is the archaeological site of a famous and ancient Celtiberian city: Numancia.

They look very strong
This is what the ancient Celtiberian homes were like. Although it may seem like a lie, some towns in the north still preserve these types of houses, really cozy and very picturesque.
