As I was visiting my friend a couple of months back in the mountains ofcours you have a snap here and there of what is going on. I am one of the people who likes having turbo fast results and all seeing what is going on instantly because I want stuff now and I want it fast because that is who I am, but also how society is at this moment.
Order something, it has to be there the next day. Change a habit, it has to be gone tomorrow. But also take a photo and see the instant result. Now my friend has an analog camera where the snaps have to be developed and it can only be done at the end of the roll.
That means it can take days, weeks of even up to months before you can see what was on the roll. Actually this is kind of sweet because by the time that you develop them, you have no idea what was going on anymore or what was on the roll.
Sometimes some surprises show up on the end of the roll though!
As my buddy texted later...Uhhhh remember the shots from the analog camera from in the snow back then? It turns out the camera was broken and now all of the snaps have this cool effect over them.
Even better!
I had to smile when I first saw these snaps because it is hardly recognisable anymore what the picture was. But that turns out to be the cool thing, these snaps turned into like a piece of art for some reason.
Now I can imagine if this is the only moment you have and you wanted people to be nicely in the shit because this is an unique moment (something like a birthday or a wedding or so) then this would totally suck.
But be honest. This something cool right? I'm getting totally 80s vibes going back in time with these sort of sandy pixels in there. And it feels spooky for some reason as well, while this was totally not the case ofcourse.
Maybe these are also some happy little accidents where there is a lot more cool stuff to find then intitally was intended.
I'm totally digging it!
