Eight Shots With a Brownie 2

A few months ago I discovered Kodak is making Gold 200 in 120. I might have been early to the party or perhaps very late, but I didn't care, I knew I liked the results from 35 mm and wanted to see how well it worked in medium format.

I 've been working through rolls in various cameras just to see what results I can get. So far I've used a Yashica Mat, Zeiss Ikon Super Ikonta, and a Kodak Brownie Hawkeye. My last "test" camera was the oldest of them all, my Brownie 2 Model F.

A fall festival was taking place just a mile down the road, the weather was great, so what better place to play with my Brownie? I loaded up the camera and went off to play.

After taking this shot someone asked me "Is that like an old camera?" I might have nerded out a bit. They thanked me for my long answer and quickly shuffled away.

Unfortunately the Brownie has a super crappy view window. So I ended up taking a picture of a very non-sexy ATM. Perhaps one day when money goes completely digital, it will be a record of a long gone world.

I have only put one other roll through this camera and I have to say I am impressed with the camera, but disappointed with myself. I need to look up focusing distance, as I seem to have gotten every photo out of focus. I'm guessing the focus is 15' to infinity, everything closer seems a blurry mess.

I probably won't use the Brownie much, especially since I have a new camera coming in the mail (of it everships), but it is impressive for a box, and since the shutter is super quiet it makes an excellent street photography camera.

Camera: Kodak Brownie 2 Model F
Film: Kodak Gold 200
Developed in Cinestill C-41 and scanned with the Epson V600.
