As the quarantine drags on, I hope you are all coping okay. I'm grateful to have a garden to escape to, but even bringing a few plants inside can be therapeutic. Sending love to you all through these trying times and I hope this newsletter brings some hope and distraction.
Things happening in the community.
The @ecotrain question of the week will be wrapping up soon, but you might be able to get a response in before it does. Even if you miss it, remember that you are always welcome to make a response to any of the questions at any time and share it in the community.
@naturalmedicine's latest challenge asks us to share what we can do to improve our protection against this and other viruses when quaratine ends.
Welcoming Newcomers
I'd like to welcome @trovadormusica to Hive. With this man, art, music and medicine come together, in a way I'm finding hard to describe. It's probably best if you read his introduction for yourself.
Some highlights of the week
It's been a while since @craigcryptoking did a beehive rescue. These bees settled in a wine barrel and the retrieving and moving them to a more suitable hive makes for quite an adventure and some amazing photos.
I've seen articles on trimming and shaping bonsai, but not on re-potting and root care. Here @creativetruth shows us re-potting a cherry tree from start to finish.
With shops struggling to keep stocked and many out of work due to the quarantine, people are starting to wonder how they might keep their stomachs full. @anggreklestari shares a simple two ingredient noodle recipe which might be just the thing to keep those hunger pangs at bay. Add a few veggies and you'll have some extra nutrients too.
Clothes get thrown out or donated to charity shops for so many reasons. Even gifting them to charity shops doesn't guarantee they will find a new home and those shops often end up having to dispose of old stock which doesn't sell. So If you can find another use for clothes no-one wants, then that's got to be a good thing. Here, @erikah takes us through the process of turning some unwanted jeans and a shirt into a bag.
Each week one of our featured authors will be selected to be a 5% beneficiary of The Lotus Garden newsletter. This week @craigcryptoking will receive this award.

@trovadormusica - welcome!!!! We love medicine music! @anggreklestari - your noodle recipes are always to die for. I remember some amazing green ones you did once!!! Great work on the newsletter - one of my favourite reads of the week!
Oh - very nice curation @minismallholding - you are ALL OVER IT this week!! 😍
The noodle recipe comes in handy - it's PUMPKIN season (absurdly cheap - 3kg pumpkins for about $1.50) so Ploi and I are planning to try our hand at pumpkin tortellini. Loved the bee rescue and the way this little bee community was treated with such respect.

Thank you. 😊
Pumpkin tortellini sounds delish! Wish my family would eat it, but I've given up trying to find ways they will. It turns out I might have an intolerance to it anyway, so that was the excuse I needed to stop growing them. I need to find something else productive that everyone likes.
Craig has an amazing respect for bees. I love his approach and tales of hive rescues.
Green beans are great, prolific and easy to grow - there's almost EVERY which way to cook and prepare them too. 🙂
Good suggestion. I've just put sugar snap press in for winter, but must remember beans for summer. I didn't get around to it this past summer.
