WARNING! Don't read the following when you're hungry. Make sure to feed yourself now or grab a snack to bite on while enjoying this curation.

You will probably be reading this from your home and although many of you might feel stuck, this is actually the perfect time to make the best of this situation and focus more on our D.I.Y. skills. We might need to do some scavenging for the right materials and ingredients but there's a lot of fun in learning home made remedies, recipes and so on.

It might seem appealing to escape from 'real life', now more than ever, bingewatching on Netflix, hiding underneath our covers and disappearing into our books to never re-appear but - let's be honest - there's healthier ways to make use of our time on this planet.

The world has gone more than a little insane in the last half year or so but why not use this as a motivator to focus even more on getting our body and mind in as good a shape as possible.

To quote one of a handful of phrases that I remember from my two years of high school Latin:

Mens sana in corpore sano.

( a healthy mind in a healthy body )

The following curation is focused on improving your mental health, on healing your mind, which will consequently lead to a healthier body.

If we focus on the news, it might seem like the world has stopped turning but in reality 'life goes on' and what better to do than feed our souls with some healthy, colorful food, for a start:

In Homemade tricolor buckwheat fajitas vegan and gluten free , @amy-goodrich gives us an update on her soul food business in Cambodia, where 'The Thing' ( as I like to call Covid-19 ) hardly seems to exist.

Those who have seen John Carpenter's 1980s sci-fi flick' The Thing' will know that 'The Thing' survives in ice / the cold and does not like fire. So perhaps the Cambodian weather plays a role here too ;<)

By the way, if you plan to give this colorful, mouthwateringly good looking and probably even better tasting recipe a try, you might want to have a nice healthy, home made drink to go along with it.

What about giving this beautiful looking turmeric shake a try?

If you haven't been sleeping under a rock ( like hypersensitivosaurus ), I'm sure that - in the last half year or so - you've been made aware even more of personal hygiene.

Only yesterday, I read that wearing mouth masks is the opposite of healthy ( not that I wasn't already aware of this ), that they're negatively affecting your oral hygiene, among other areas.

It's likely that you have been looking into ways of putting less toxins in your body or to get yourself a good rinse, inside and outside, to balance out all the negative energy that we're absorbing en-masse lately.

This is the perfect time to make yourself some homemade mouthwash or to delve into the creation of artisanal soaps.

And if you're feeling overwhelmed, with a strong urge to scream out loud, but you're not at the seaside, there's little privacy and you don't want to scare your neighbors, just remind yourself that it's okay to give in to your emotions - you're only human.

Sometimes it's necessary to fall, before we can stand up again - as described beautifully by @pavanjr

If, even after reading all of the above, you still feel down, here's an easy trick to up your vibe: practicing gratitude.✨

The lovely @vicvperezdelara is focusing a series of posts on this, so you might want to visit her profile for inspiration.

I also highly recommend checking out the work of @clareartista for even more inspiration, guidance and a different perspective on what is happening in the world and a possible way to deal with it.

Her podcasts are must-listen material.

I have to warn you though:

Once you start listening, you probably can't stop. So make sure to grab a drink first ;<)

Much Love,

Vincent

In case you didn't follow the links in the above write up, here's all of them in the order that they were mentioned:

Healing Turmeric shake recipe by @libbi

Homemade Natural Oral Hygiene Mouthwash by @sallybeth23

Creating Artesanal Soaps at Home by @oniemaniego

Oh god! I've been watching all this and haven't had dinner. It's a punishment! hahaha... But it was worth the trip to learn more about vegan food from @amy-goodrich. Before and after eating I always thank the Supreme Being for the food received; to be grateful is to feed the soul. Reason has @vicvperezdelara in his article.

And to you @naturalmedicine, thanks for the mention. Love and blessings. <3

You are welcome ! Thanks for engaging on our curation post - it's really appreciated!

I don't know if it counts to direct the hunger they warned about to my self-made hemp shrine. :-)

Reading, does not make me feeling down. :-) It fills my brain. But i understand.

I am in a cachectic nutritional state and use hemp and its properties to make my suffering a little bit more beautiful. Sometimes i use propolis for getting some particles i do not get with my food. I study with the wild plant medicine, and try out something is see.

From the hemp i take care to achieve the highest possible quality.

When the blossom is finished, the hemp will be able to serve me as an appetizer, for my digestion and last but not least to relieve my pain.

They do not replace a doctor or a physician. But I can live with it better than with some chemical mace.
I hope that you will get many readers and thank you with this.
Kind regards
Sascha

Reading, does not make me feeling down. :-) It fills my brain. But i understand.

I also read a lot but I was mainly referring to so called escapism - as you probably understood - something I've been doing a lot in my life ( mainly in books and movies ) and people are probably doing even more these days.

To be honest, I misunderstood that after all. :-D

But NOW I understand you. :-)
We all flee reality and its often hard reality in different ways. I think this is "normal".

Thank you for that and I wish you a good time!

Exactly. It's hard to just sit with our feelings and thoughts and accept them.

Have a great week!✨

I love your mention here, thank you soooo much again, Vincent!! What a BEAUUUUTIFUL collection of posts!!
