@JustinParke here again with a curation of Hive's finest #plantbased recipes. The #plantbased tag is still growing, and we thank those of you choosing to add this to your #naturalmedicine posts.


     Our usual #plantbased chefs were very prolific this week, and it would've been very easy to feature more than one recipe from each of these folks. With a desire to see more new faces, I managed to find a couple awesome gems outside the #naturalmedicine community.

     As usual, I found a good variety, everything from snacks to sweets and even something to drink. @sreypov made something that knocked my socks off, and @springworth has been making some awesome creations from various mushrooms, and is also the winner of this weeek's 5% beneficiary.

     Two different soups provided yin and yang, with a light puree from @adonisr and a hearty tomato soup from @carolynstahl, not to be forgotten without some fresh-baked bread.

     In the handheld department, @plantstoplanks made a tasty jalapeno dip she plated with some pretzels and bell peppers. @gmenda made some awesome chestnut truffles that would be a nice compliment to @marinast's persimmon smoothie.

A side note - you may have noticed that we've moved from @lotusshares to @naturalmedicine, and Plant Based will be replacing Earth Healing. Earth healing topics will still be supported, of course, so keep using the tags #ecotrain and #naturalmedicine for any content that nourishes and supports our beautiful planet!

     Once in a while a dish transports me to a parallel universe where everything I thought I knew is turned upside down. @sreypov has never made this dish before, but the first time is a charm, hands down one of the most delicious new foods I've eaten in a a few years.

     A bit of improvising and substituting resulted in what I'll coin as "improtuting," landing spaghetti noodles alongside her legendary chopped fried spring rolls. There is so much going on with this dish: multiple sauces, textures, flavors, and I guess it's technically a salad. Do check this post out to have your mind blown 🤯.

Cream of pumpkin and zucchini a delicious and light dinner 🍲

     I must be honest and say I'm not a big fan of zucchini, especially zucchini noodles, but @adonisr turned this rather bland vegetable into a nice light puree with the aid of pumpkin and carrot. I would definitely enjoy this with @carolynstahl's fresh-baked bread.

     The recipe and post is bilingual, so no fear native-Spanish speakers, all is explained clearly for you as well. I look forward to seeing more bilingual #plantbased creations from the this Venezuelan Hiver.

Gourmet Mushrooms Stir-Fry with Wonton Crisps

     Technically Mr. @springworth is responsible for the mushroom creation if I read the post correctly, and @springworth made the wonton crisps, a tag-team meal. They've been getting very shroomy lately, even dabbling in growing mushrooms.

     This combo screams "umami", and it sounds like this couple works well in the kitchen together. I think we will be seeing more and more mushroom foods coming from this awesome Hiver, so keep your eyes on her shroom lovers.

Roasted tomato soup with pasta and tofu

     Tomato soup is such a soul food, and it seems every chef has their own little twist on it. In my vegetarian days, I used to love a grilled cheese sandwich with my tomato soup, but now I prefer fried okra or freshly baked bread.

     This chef didn't let us down, and actually baked some fresh bread to pair with this hearty soup. Shame I'm in the tropics, because this is something I'd love to eat on a cold and rainy day.

Jalapeño Lime Black Bean Dip

     We all know this chef is very busy, but always makes time to share some delicious recipes with us. Lately, she's been snacking a lot, but hopefully not because there's no time to sit down for a meal proper meal.

     This jalapeño black bean dip was paired with some pretzels and fresh bell peppers. I imagine it would also be a tasty pâté for sandwiches and crackers, and definitely something easy and healthy to prepare for a chef on the run.

Chestnut Truffles (Gluten-free & Vegan)

     There is always something room for something sweet at the end of a meal, and I luckily found this post outside the #naturalmedicine community from @gmenda. We are always looking for new #plantbased chefs to welcome to our community, and this Hiver will be an awesome addition, so I've made sure she's aware of the LOTUS token and corresponding #naturalmedicine tag.

     These truffles look absolutely delicious, and I didn't even know there was such a product as chesnut puree, but we don't always have access to niche foods in developing countries. Needless to say, these are very chestnutty, and I would love to get my hands on some.

Cinnamon Persimmon Smoothie (Vegan)

     Persimmons were a weapon of choice when I was a youth, as we had a huge tree on our farm. I would often get hit in head by them while mowing the lawn, and also from siblings throwing them at me, and I ate them so much I swore them off for years.

     After a period of persimmonless life, I came back around, and learned to apprecialove this awesome fruit. This almond milk and persimmon smoothie is something I would love to try, especially with the hint of cinnamon giving it a hint of fall flavors. This post was outside the #naturalmedicine community, so I've made sure to let her know about us friendly folks as well.
