Bread, cookies, brownies, baked that potato a bit too long... YES! I think we've all done it at some point! That might make a good contest ("writing prompt") sometime: Your worst kitchen disaster! 😁

I have a double-boiler set: two saucepans, one that nests above the other one. The lower one is for boiling water, the upper one for gently cooking food above the boiling water. The walls are thinner than a normal saucepan, because it allows better heating, and it's no problem if used properly. But one time, I mistakenly grabbed one of those pots instead of a regular one and used it, by itself, on the stove. My stew scorched before I realized it. 😭 LOL
