I hope you are well, enjoying a restful Sunday in good health and surrounded by your loved ones.
Today, I want to share with you the exquisite experience that was the tasting of my birthday cake. The Christmas cake that my son-in-law gave me was not only a gift to celebrate my 53rd birthday, but a true multi-sensory experience.
The cake is from Cascabel, a renowned Colombian bakery that is known for its gourmet recipes and delivery packaging.
The Christmas cake, for example, comes in a beautiful tin box that is a work of art. I loved its colorful and Christmas design. It's a bamboo box with a Christmas tree with lights and underneath, a boy with his Christmas hat and his little white dog sniffing a delicious cake with a decorative stick and a shooting star. I thought it was beautiful and cute. On the lid of the tin box, you can read that the drawing is a work by the Colombian artist Olga Lucía García entitled Sweet Present.
If the box is a delight to the eye, when opened, the aroma is .irresistible to the palate.

Hoy, quiero compartir con ustedes la exquisita experiencia que fue la degustación de mi torta de cumpleaños. El Ponqué de Navidad que me regaló mi yerno no solo fue un regalo para celebrar mis 53, sino una verdadera experiencia multisensorial.
La torta es de Cascabel, una reconocida pastelería colombiana que se caracteriza por sus recetas gourmets y los empaques para entregas.
El Ponqué de Navidad, por ejemplo, viene presentado en una hermosa caja de hojalata que es toda una obra de arte. Me encantó su colorido y el diseño navideño Es una bambalina que tiene dibujado un arbolito de Navidad con sus luces y debajo, un niño con su gorrito navideño y su perrito blanco que olfatea un delicioso ponqué con un bastoncito decorativo y una estrella fugaz. Me pareció hermosísimo y tierno. En la tapa de la caja de hojalata, se puede leer que el dibujo es una obra de la artista colombiana Olga Lucía García que se titula Dulce presente.
Si la caja es un encanto para la vista, al abrirla, el aroma es irresistible para el paladar.
The main ingredients of this delicious Christmas Pony are nuts and dried fruits, which I love because getting them in every bite is a sensation from beyond. Among the ingredients in the ponqué are plums, prunes, raisins, oranges, figs, brazil nuts, walnuts, almonds and hazelnuts.
I loved the crunchy texture that these ingredients bring to the cake. I also really liked the aged and spicy flavor that lingers in the mouth. A real feast for my palate.
The combination of flavors and texture is sublime and memorable. The flavor, aroma and texture of this ponqué reminded me of a friend from Cumana who makes delicious Christmas cakes that we know there as torta negra, as good as this Ponqué de Navidad from Cascabel.
So beyond being a birthday cake, my sweet present is an expression of creativity and love that I thank my loved ones who dedicated themselves to make my day special and unforgettable.
Los principales ingredientes de este delicioso Ponqué de Navidad son las nueces y los frutos secos, lo cual me encanta porque conseguirlos en cada bocado es una sensación del más allá. Entre los ingredientes que lleva el ponqué están las ciruelas, las uvas pasas, naranjas, brevas, nuez brasil, nuez nogal, almendras y avellanas.
Amé la textura crujiente que estos ingredientes le aportan al ponqué. También me gustó mucho el sabor añejo y alicorado que perdura en la boca. Una verdadera fiesta para mi paladar.
La combinación de sabores y textura es sublime y memorable. El sabor, el aroma y la textura de este ponqué me hizo recordar a una amiga cumanesa que hace unas deliciosas tortas navideñas que allá conocemos como torta negra tan buenas como este Ponqué de Navidad de Cascabel.
Así que más allá de ser una torta de cumpleaños, mi dulce presente es toda una expresión de creatividad y amor que agradezco a mis seres queridos que se dedicaron a hacer mi día especial e inolvidable.
