VISITING PUNGKO PUNGKO SA FEUNTE

Good afternoon guys, I hope you guys are having a great day. Earlier today me and my cousin decided to have our lunch at the famous pungko pungko sa fuente.

Pungko Pungko are street food kiosks famous in Cebu that serve an assortment of fried foods; the phrase refers to the cuisine sold by these vendors.

If you are not from the Visayas, you may not be familiar with Pungko Pungko. Pungko Pungko are street food kiosks famous in Cebu that serve a random array of fried food; the phrase refers to the cuisine sold by these vendors.

The term "pungko" means squat or crouch in Cebuano, and this is how you sit when you eat at one of these kiosks because the benches are so low that you will have to slouch while eating.Dining in these establishments is also unique in that you will be given plastic plates and a plastic bag to act as a glove as you eat with your bear hands.

You will then select your deep-fried meal, puso (rice wrapped in palm leaves), and sawsawan to accompany it.

Pungko Pungko, as previously mentioned, is very popular in Cebu, particularly in Salinas Drive, Redemptorist Church, and Fuente Osmena, and if you're in Manila, it'll be similar to the Jolly Jeeps of Makati, except these stalls only sell deep-fried items like lumpia, meatballs, longanisa, fried pork, and fried chicken.
