Spicy Chicken Gizzard

in Foodies Bee Hive2 years ago

Have you ever tried to eat it?

There are several countries that do not consume this type of food. However, in the Philippines, this is a popular delicacy. My parents have always prepared this cuisine for me since I was a child. It's one of my favorite foods, and it's one of the reasons I wanted to learn to cook.

To clarify, a gizzard is an organ located in the digestive system of a chicken or any other bird. Its job is to break down the food it consumes into smaller, more digestible pieces.

Although it takes a long time to prepare this meal, it is really simple and well worth it.

This is how you do it.

1. Make sure the yellow skin and fatty section of the gizzard are washed and removed.
2. Boil the gizzard for at least 15-20 minutes together with the unions, lemon grass, ginger and salt.

3. You can either cut it into little pieces or not after boiling it.
4. Onions, garlic, ginger, a lot of chilies, red bell pepper, water, soy sauce, and spice are all required.

5. First, cook the ginger, garlic, onions, and chilies. After that, add the gizzard and soy sauce, along with some water. When it begins to boil, add the spice and red bell pepper. Wait until there is only a small amount of soup left. Finally, serve while it's still hot.

It's best served immediately with rice. Some people drink beer or other alcoholic beverages with it.
