I gotta get a canner for this type of stuff! We have a gigantic pot and just boil them for an hour.. but a canner would work much better lol. I've been trying to save the produce from the farms, and the last 2 years I've made a bunch of jams and preserves, but pulling out the big pot to boil them has been a bit of a thorn of mine..
I never thought to try it on ground meat though, great idea!
I get it! The canner is large and heavy too, but I add most of the water with a smaller pot, so I don't have to lift it with water in it. I take it out the same way, that saves my back big time. I just did Raspberry Jam this week, and oh my it is delicious. Happy Canning!
