Hello Foodies lovers!
How are today? I hope everyone has a good day!
Today I will review about traditional snacks from Sunda. Sunda is the name of a tribe from the city of West Java, almost the entire population of West Java is called Sunda. In Indonesia, it is known to have many tribes, for example, I am from the Javanese tribe.
Because I'm from another tribe, so I've never tried bajigur either, but when it comes to thymus and banana cake I've tried it.
Bajigur is a traditional drink typical of the Sundanese people from the West Java region, Indonesia. The main ingredients of this drink are palm sugar and coconut milk. Add a little ginger and salt. Fragrant pandan leaves or vanilla are usually added to add to the aroma. Ground coffee, or finely ground coffee is also sometimes an additional ingredient of this drink.
This is my first time trying this drink. For those who like sweet taste, may like this drink. But, since I'm not a big fan of sweetness, I don't like this.
Timus is a snack made from a mixture of grated cassava, grated coconut and palm sugar wrapped in banana leaves and steamed. This food comes from West Java. In the area of Central Java and East Java, this food is known as lemet. This snack tastes sweet but not too sweet, so it is suitable for the tongue of people who like or don't like sweet tastes.
This banana cake also comes from the West Java area. Just like timus, it is also wrapped in banana leaves and then steamed. But the difference is, the taste of this banana cake is very sweet. If it's timus I can still eat it but for this banana cake I really can't eat it because it's too sweet for me.
Bajigur, Timus, and banana cakes are usually sold by traveling vendors using carts.
Alright, that was a little review and introduction to typical Sundanese food. Hope you like it. Thank you for reading my blog. See you in the next post!
Have a good day everyone! ❤❤❤

looks beautiful. but I don't think we can do it with the bananas here
Here in our country, the Philippines, we have a similar-looking food that we call "Suman" it is usually made of sticky rice or cassava. By the way, that banana cake looks delicious. Have a nice day ahead.
It's too sweet for me.
