Ajisan Authentic Tokyo Ramen Blog Review | Rotterdam Centraal, Netherlands

I am always up for ramen, no matter what season I am in. It is currently winter here in the Netherlands, majority of the days are rainy and the only healthier option with a class of noodle soup I can think of is ramen which is by far my ultimate comfort food.

Hi there, this is @fernwehninja! Welcome to my food adventure! Sharing my sincere and honest review of my food lifestyle whether it is low-budget, street food, high-class cuisine, anything unusual, new in town, or something unique! Coz', why not?

In Rotterdam city center, there are numerous international restaurants and food outlets you can hop due to its diverse ambiance. Every time we feel like going to the city center, Google Maps is definitely our best buddy if we feel like visiting to a new destination that we are not familiar with.

Rotterdam's Town Hall

Today’s review is about my ramen dining journey. It is always advisable, whether you are a foodie or a content creator to first read reviews so you will know what to anticipate when you arrive, this includes the location, ratings, accessibility, atmosphere, recommended dishes, top-selling menus, and more.

If you bring a toddler with you, it makes sense that you need a good space for both indoor and outdoor dining as it is convenient to fit the stroller.

How to get there

The distance between Rotterdam Center Train Station and Ajisan Authentic Ramen is only 13 minutes on foot.

Exterior

The exterior is simple. I recently went here, it is pleasant that they have a heater to keep you warm.

The space of the restaurant is suitable enough to fit a toddler stroller. Therefore, it provides a family-friendly atmosphere.

Interior

They have Japanese-inspired outlook. When it's raining, it is preferably more comfortable to dine inside. Toddler seat is readily available.

You know it when you knew it!!! Literally, when you see that a restaurant is full of people then that area is really worth visiting!!

In addition, you can also see the chef cooking up front.
The Japanese background music provides an Asian vibe in this restaurant.

They have this Sake Bar that looks so cool to see!

Ramen

Tons of Ramen choices, from pork, chicken, vegetarian and fish!!

We ordered their best-seller ramen: Creamy Baitan and added additional spice to see the flavor difference.

Original Creamy Baitan without added spices

Even without spices the broth itself is incredibly superb!

This is how it looks like with spices on. For extra spicyness you have to pay 1 euro

Its creaminess is really authentic that you would surely keep coming back over again.

I just went on for ramen yesterday, so I came back to eat it again the following day! haha

I suppose I can't deny that this is my sixth visit. How fantastic is that!

In Rotterdam, there are several ramen eateries, however, majority of the venues are small. As a result, it is not a kid-friendly to eat there.

Last time I had a previous experience with their Spicy Tonkotsu, I am not really impressed with the flavour, because I am up for the creaminess of the soup.

Starters

We ordered their mini spring rolls worth 3.45 euro for 6 pieces, the ebi fry shrimp that cost 7.95 for 4 pieces, and the karaage tsushai which is 5.50 for 4 pieces.

Drinks

We had the non-alcoholic affordable drink and alcoholic drink as well.

This pink-colored drink is called as Calpis Casis and damn it is so delish!!

I also had some sips of the alcoholic one which named the Sailor-Moon which is a fruity flavour and doesn't taste strong, well it is a perfect ladies' drink.

Price

The price is just right for me, it ranges from 3 euro to 18 euro. Typical and quite similar price and ideal rate compared to other ramen restaurants.

There are varieties of authentic Japanese sodas and alcoholic beverages available.

Unfortunately, they didn't have fresh fruit juice and smoothie. It would be great if they offer one because it is healthier and ideal drinks for everyone especially for children.

Dessert

To complete my meal, I ended up with mochi-ice cream dessert : mango and matcha flavour. I adore how it was presented nicely!!

My overall experience is really good with 8/10 ratings. The one and only ramen that I currently explore in Rotterdam that offers a top-notch quality!! Put this on your list!!
