RE: Gift (Snack) From Kanazawa, Japan 🇯🇵

Your combo king. Lol! Oh thank you. Learning quite a bit here. It’s a good thing I asked about mamaki. Interesting that it’s only found there. Maybe I can hardly pronounce the scientific names. Haha!
Thank you for enlightening my knowledge. Appreciated.

Hehe...indeed! Absolutely! Mamaki is a beautiful plant that thankfully seeds itself reasonably often, as it is difficult to propagate. It's scientific name is Pipturus albidus. I love talking plants, so thank you for your interest! You're so welcome! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

I knew I’d have some tongue twister with the scientific name. Haha!
Thanks. Quite interesting.

Haha...yeah, the scientific names are often like that! I've been working with them all my life, so I'm used to it! Absolutely, my pleasure! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

It's good that you’re used to them. I’m thinking that maybe some of the root names help you in understanding more about other plants and species?
But as combo king, maybe you’re already accustomed to and know about a wide variety of teas and plants in general.

Yes, exactly! Scientific nomenclature is based on Latin, with lots of Greek added in too. Now there are also lots of names that have been assimilated from other languages as well. The system lets you know the systematics and taxonomy. It's extremely helpful! Yes, also that! I've had a very close and deep relationship with plants all my life, so yes, I've learned a huge amount! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

😃I imagine so. I don’t know that much about taxonomy or the scientific names of plants but remember learning just a bit of it years back when I did biology. Thank you for sharing some of your passion and lifestyle.
Have a great weekend.
