For #beautifulsunday and #sublimesunday, it's time to visit La Sabores Cartel which is a Mexican restaurant here in the city of Baguio. #BeautifulSunday is an initiative of and #SublimeSunday is an initiative of @ace108 and @c0ff33a.
I just realized that we went to a Mexican restaurant that we didn't eat Mexican food. My bad.
However, it was still a great experience.
I was supposed to post this in ecency or hive but for how many times I have attempted, photos are not uploading that well. I hope that herein the liketu, it will be okay. I may have to edit this later on.
La Sabores Cartel, Mexican Restaurant in Baguio City is exactly located at #50 Outlook Drive just across Mines View Hotel. Outlook is one of the areas in the city the great view. I would have preferred if La Sabores took advantage of that view and made a bigger area for diners to have enjoy that in its fullest.
Whenever I eat outside, I base it on what I wanted to eat so during that time, I was up for burger and fries (chips). My partner wanted some chicken wings so we ordered that too. It would have been nicer if I had beer with it but they don't have the brand that I prefer available that time so I skipped that although looking at their bar area there are lots of different choices of alcoholic beverage. Really tempting to have one of those that time.
I have been passing by this restaurant whenever I went out for a walk in this part of the city. This area is part of my fave route, the whole stretch of Outlook Drive. It's where one can get beautiful sunrises.
La Sabores Cartel, Mexican Restaurant in Baguio City is a restaurant that has an unassuming facade. As you enter it's gate, colorful mural greets you at the vestibule/parking area (for motorcycle) that one can relate to Mexican painting - a Day of the Dead painting, cacti, tacos, nachos, even the color of the Mexican flag, etc.

Once you enter the dining area, there are other colorful arts painted as well that reminds you of Mexican culture. The furniture are food which are comfortable enough. The building is of steel and GI sheets with wooden walls and concrete floor. The black paint they used on most of the walls and ceiling brings makes the other colorful paintings done stand out more. The wooden furniture and the bar are enhanced as well.

There is a tiny verandah with two small tablets where you can have al fresco dining with a great view of the mountains in the distance.
I ordered for pulled pork burger while my partner chicken burger with fries (chips) on the side and a ketchup as dip for that. I'm not that fond of dips for my fries though so I didn't touch that. We also added spicy chicken wings with garlic dip.
While waiting for our order, I took additional photos around. There were only two other customers when we arrived but they soon left so we had the place to ourselves until we were done eating before other guests arrived as well. So we dined in peace of sorts while enjoying the blaring music of the crew in the kitchen. The dining area and kitchen are divided by a GI sheet as well but it doesn't go all the way to the ceiling. There's about 3-5 feet gap that's why you can hear what they are saying in there.
At one point, I had to use the toilet and it's a plus point that their toilet is clean and neat. No photos there though.

Our first order arrived which are the burgers. They are tasty and well seasoned. The bun they used are charcoal buns which are soft. Overall, the burger tastes good. Just the right kind of food I was hoping for that time.
I like that they have this skull and cross bone inside. It does give a nice background.
The chicken wings are less desirable though for they are not fresh and they have that old meat taste to it. Overall, it was still okay. The coating is crunchy and spicy and the dip goes well with it.
I do like the caramelized onions though.
The prices of the food we had are competitive enough. I hope next time when we dine there, I'll be able to try their Mexican dishes. Or maybe try the new branch they have somewhere in the city. I just saw their signage there but I haven't seen it open yet. It's just a small shop from what I can tell but no view there though.

That burger loks like what I ate, uncle Arif. But here, the patty is so small lol. I like the skull. Daddy loves skulls too.
Better find another place to eat with a bigger patty :D

I love the combination of burger, fries, and chicken wings too. One of the best combos for me. Though I have not yet tried eating them in an authentic Mexican Resto. Looks yummy!
I'm not sure about the authenticity of this place but so far what we have eaten tastes good.
I wished we have more Mexican places here but the charcoal buns is quite expected.
My previous experience with charcoal buns are not great that's why I was a bit wary with this but thankfully it was good.
I have them a couple of times and don't mind them but not something I'll specially look for.
