Estoy feliz de estar acá después de un tiempo que no publicaba en esta comunidad. Hoy vengo con una receta que muchos conocen, aprovechando que mi árbol tiene este fruto, prepararé para ustedes una rica mermelada de guayaba. Esta puede consumirse sola, con gallegas, con panes, y para de contar. Es muy fácil de hacer con pocos ingredientes.

I am happy to be here after a while that I did not publish in this community. Today I come with a recipe that many know, taking advantage that my tree has this fruit, I will prepare for you a delicious guava jam. This can be eaten alone, with gallegas, with breads, and so on. It is very easy to make with few ingredients.

Ingredientes // Ingredients

  • Guayaba
  • Azúcar al gusto
  • Vainilla al gusto
  • Clavito especias
  • Guava
  • Sugar to taste
  • Vanilla to taste
  • Clove spice

Primero se debe sancochar las guayabas para que al momento de batirlas en la licuadora quede bastante espeso el jugo y la consistencia de la mermelada quede mejor. Las guayabas deben estar a temperatura ambiente al momento da batirlas en la licuadora, luego procesamos el liquido por el colador de jugo. (Lamento no haber documentado estas partes, espero me hayan entendido en este paso)

First you must parboil the guavas so that when you blend them in the blender the juice is quite thick and the consistency of the marmalade is better. The guavas must be at room temperature at the moment of beating them in the blender, then we process the liquid through the juice strainer (I am sorry for not having documented these parts, I hope you have understood me in this step).

En una olla agregué el concentrado de guayaba que dio un litro, 500gr de azúcar y clavito especias para mezclar bien.

In a pot I added the guava concentrate that gave a liter, 500gr of sugar and clove spices to mix well.

Le añado una cucharada de vainilla y seguí mezclando hasta lograr una consistencia espesa. Cabe destacar que para hacer esta mezcla es necesario usar una paleta de madera.

I add a tablespoon of vanilla and continue mixing until a thick consistency is achieved. It should be noted that to make this mixture it is necessary to use a wooden paddle.

A medida que se vaya cocinando, la mezcla cambia de color y también se pone mas pastosa. No hay que dejar de mezclar para que no se pegue de la olla.

As it cooks, the mixture changes color and also becomes more doughy. Do not stop stirring so that it does not stick to the pot.

Por poco se me quemaba la mezcla, ya que la primera olla en donde estaba la mezcla era muy delgada, así que tuve que ir por una olla gruesa para que el producto no se queme, gracias a Dios, lo conseguí.
Pasados los 20 minutos, retiré del fuego la mermelada y dejé reposar para finalmente envasarla. Entonces ya sabremos cuando esté lista, cuando la mezcla de despegue de las paredes de la olla.

I almost burned the mixture, since the first pot where the mixture was in was very thin, so I had to go for a thick pot so that the product would not burn, thank God, I got it.
After 20 minutes, I removed the jam from the heat and let it rest to finally pack it. Then we will know when it is ready, when the mixture comes off the walls of the pot.

Ahora sí podré disfrutar de mi deliciosa mermelada hecha con las guayabas de mi cosecha. Puede ser acompañada con galletas o con pan tostado, con lo que desees.

Now I will be able to enjoy my delicious jam made with guavas from my harvest. It can be served with crackers or toast, with whatever you like.
