Hello Hivers 💘💕,

The nature of food processing from its beginning to its final stage can be absolutely great when you have the right tools and the right channel to follow. In west African Nigeria we have different ways of preparing food and how long it takes before it gets to its final stage. In preparation of cassava flakes its has so many processes right from the planting of the cassava itself to the stages nearby the cassava stem will grow up to its maturity stage. And to its harvesting stage. And aside this we also have what is called the post process in preparation of the cassava flakes. When you harvest the cassava from the agricultural soil or Farmland. It will also pass through some stages like they peeling of the cassava, thorough washing, grinding of the cassava. To the pressing of the cassava to ferment it for some period of days, 3 days to 4 days depending on individual choices. This fermentation for 3 to 4 days will make your cassava flakes to get into market level. Some people love to consume cassava flakes when it is absolutely fermented not just 24 hours fermentation.

This fermentation process also takes a longer period of time because you use the Jack machine to extract the acidic water from the grinded cassava for 3 to 4 days. I have also done this several times. So I'll be explaining this in my next article what it entails to go through all this process. I visited today cassava flakes industry here in ilorin kwara State Nigeria and it was a very brief visitation with some pictures.

  • I visited the cassava flakes industry at exactly 8:00 in the morning and it was absolutely amazing seeing a lot of people already at work. This is to show that we are very hardworking here in west African Nigeria and we also know exactly what we are doing. So many women are seen here who also do this type of job to earn a living and also to train their children in school.

These ones right here are gotten from the extraction from the cassava flakes. It is also a way to produce another type of food which is called Lafun in Yoruba language.

The pure revelation of the hard work here because the women here are sieiving the cassava flakes from the stage one to stage final to consumption.

We may have some other ways of frying the cassava flakes into the final consumable stage but here is what we use at the moment here. It is very fast when you have the right frying tools.

What they use here mainly is the wood for frying method. You see a lot of arranged woods for this last process of making cassava flakes.

Wow what a nice walk on the Wednesday.
That is the real African women for you, they are strong and hard working.
At least I have learned from you and also mainly from them that time doesn't stop anyone from chasing his goals.
Wow,I guess this cassava flakes(garri) industry must be a very long lasted one. It really looks like a busy place.
Thanks so much for sharing with us sir. I hope to also share my own processing procedures as we harvest our cassava.

As you as you can dream of your goal. You stand up firm and get it. Time is never a issue. I thought as much too when some people out there will be complaining about dreams but not being able to get it. We have individual differences though but that's not the case. Sure. You can as well relate your own step by step method too.

Where are the flakes?

The flakes? Hahaha. Still on the fire going through the processes. Though, I saw some done already but I didn't have the chance to get there for pictures.

Owz.. Thank you for sharing. 😊

Wow boss this is a very big industry. The are doing amazing job, now that garri is expensive

Absolutely. Garri is #1300 from the factory. Some people sell for #1600 , #1700 in another state. It is very sad that we are experiencing all this rising of goods and services.

Is very cost here in akwa ibom. I custard is 3300
