Bangladeshi cuisine is a treasure trove of flavors and textures, and one dish that truly embodies the essence of our culinary heritage is Radish Leaf with Shrimp Curry. As the winter breeze bids adieu, this beloved delicacy continues to grace our tables, offering a symphony of taste and nourishment.
Let me share my recipe.
Prepare the Ingredients:
- 1/2 kg of fresh radish leaves, washed and chopped into small pieces
- 1 small onion, sliced
- /32 green chilies, sliced
- 1 tomato, sliced
- 100 gm of fresh shrimp, cleaned and deveined
- Salt to taste
- Turmeric powder
- Cooking oil
The recipe requires fewer ingredients and the process is very simple.
Let's see.
1. Boil the Radish Leaves:
In a pot, bring water to a boil and add the chopped radish leaves.
Sprinkle some salt and allow it to boil for about 5 minutes until the leaves are tender.
Once done, drain the water and set aside.
2. Prepare the Curry:
Heat some oil in a pan over medium heat.
Add the sliced onion and sauté until translucent.
Stir in the green chilies according to your preferred spice level.
After 2 minutes, add the cleaned shrimp to the pan.
Season with salt and turmeric powder, and cook for 3-4 minutes until the shrimp turns pink and opaque.
3. Combine the Ingredients:
Now, add the boiled radish leaves to the pan with the shrimp.
Mix well and let it cook for an additional 2 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
Add the sliced tomatoes to the curry, stirring gently to incorporate them.
4. Final Touches and Serving:
Let the curry simmer for another 2 minutes until the tomatoes soften slightly and release their juices.
Once done, remove from heat and marvel at the vibrant colors and fragrant aroma of the dish.
Serve the Radish Leaf with Shrimp Curry hot alongside steamed rice for a wholesome and satisfying meal.
This simple yet flavorful dish captures the essence of Bangladeshi cuisine with its fresh ingredients and aromatic spices.
The combination of tender radish leaves and succulent shrimp creates a harmonious balance of textures and tastes, while the subtle heat from the chilies adds a delightful kick to each bite.

I agree. We have a lot of different mix matches in our curries. The flavor is always complex but much more enjoyable. Thanks for your wonderful response.
I myself like these kinds of things very much which we make at home, we know that their quality is good, so I am saving this recipe in my recipe, I will definitely try it one day.
Great to hear that. Leafy vegies are very healthy, try more. :)
Looks very tasty. I love me some shrimp but surprisingly I have never tried it with curry. The radish leaves is a nice interesting touch, I definitely would try this 😋
Try shrimp with curry, it's a game changer. We add it with so many things like pumpkin, spinach, gourd, and potatoes and it makes the taste much better.
Thanks for your complement. Have a good day.
I eat radish a lot of times already but never it's leaves. Now I'm super curious, is it perhaps bitter or nah? That looks delicious though, I'd love to eat that with riceeeee!
Yes, the leaves are 20% bitter but the taste is nice. If you try it, I guess you will love it. And radish leaves are so full of vitamins.
The looks of it, it would be delicious. @rem-steem
