We'll fight the corona-isolation with Christmas spirit and hopefully next year we'll all be together again around a biiiiig Christmas table! 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦👨‍👩‍👦🎄👨‍👩‍👦👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

How are things over there? In Greece we're heading to an extension of the lockdown, with closed shops (all but super markets, drugstores, bakeries and mini markets) and I read today they're planning to allow the Christmas decoration shops to open so that people can buy decorations and presents...

Hello dear Ruth🌸,
We all have to get through the next three months. It's been so long already. We wouldn't want to be one of the last victims of this virus.

You should be grateful you live in Greece. There seems to be some sort of rational, unified policy. Here it is absolutely crazy. We have fervent Trump supporters in some parts of the country who refuse to wear masks, who refuse to believe the virus is dangerous. Meanwhile, hospitals are filling to capacity, mostly in these same areas. Some places are running out of ICU beds.

In New York, our governor has adopted a rational policy, though not always uniform. After our devastating losses in the spring, there is an awareness of what this virus can do.

My husband and I go out very rarely. We did walk a bit in warm weather, but always cautiously. Everybody outside wears a mask (though sometimes ineffectively).

My son delivers groceries to our door. Everything is ordered online. The whole family stays away from stores, if possible. My daughter works in a school, and that is worrisome. She double masks and sanitizes all the time. Still, there have been cases at school. One just last week. So, it's kind of scary.

Yes, please fight COVID with Christmas.🎁 🎄 🎅 What a lovely image.

Very warm regards🌸🌸,
AG
