Honey Garlic Beef Stew (Instant Pot)

Good morning!

It is a rainy and cold Sunday here, however, next week we will have 17-25 C here, supposedly. Yay 🥳 We are always skipping Spring and would just go straight to Summer, without collecting $200 😁 Let's see, let's see, as we still have May long weekend to come, and usually it would snow 😁

I so can't wait for BBQ season though. We did start having BBQ last week, but with the temperature still cold plus windy, now and then, we can't enjoy the backyard yet. I wanna touch the green grass while eating my burger 🤣

Since it's not there yet, we are still having soup and stew, like this following dish. Soooo yummy, my oldest said 😍

1 shallot (in Canada, the size is bigger than in Indonesia, so if you are in Indonesia, use 2)
4-5 garlic
2 carrots (optional)
2 tbsp peanut oil
1 kg beef cubes
Beef broth, enough to cover the beef
Garlic powder, at least 3 tsp, less or more is to your liking
Onion powder, 1 tsp
Maggi seasoning liquid, to taste
Sweet paprika powder, 1 tsp
Chicken bouillon powder, to taste
Oyster sauce, 1 tbsp
Soy sauce, 2 tsp
2-4 tbsp Honey, or more, to your liking
White pepper powder, a ground pinch or two
2 tbsp corn starch diluted in enough beef broth

Dice, slice, or chop your shallot and garlic, set aside
Skin and wash the carrot, slice, set to side

Using IP, heat peanut oil, brown the beef, drain the juice, place the beef back into the pot, saute along shallot and garlic

Season with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika powder, chicken bouillon powder, Maggi, soy sauce, oyster sauce, white pepper powder and honey

Once the flavor is good enough to your liking, turn off saute, place the lid on, and choose stew.
Once cooked, release steam, and pour in cornstarch solution, stir to thicken

It looks really good!

We had some kind of beef stew last night, can't remember what it was called as it was French I think, involved wine and it was the first time J had made it, was also pretty good. Must be the season XD

Oooh im intrigued. Is it the coq au vin? But thats chicken. Hmmm i need to google 😁

It was beef bourgignon apparently (had to wait for J to wake up the following morning to find out XD).

We have had coq au vin, think J was the only one that liked it, was too winey for the rest of us XD

Aaah! I know that one, however i have not made it myself, yet i should give a try 😊
