First Viewpoint while coming back from Gulmarg, Kashmir
Leaving Gulmarg with a heavy heart (as we missed the cable car) did not long last. As I stated in my last post, this viewpoint was not far away when we came back. On our way back, we saw nice cottages and there were one/two/three bedroom cottages along with some deluxe ones as well. I was not aware about these, and asking the driver he said they are offered by JKTDC (Jammu and Kashmir Tourist Development Corporation.). They want to devlop this Ski-resort town like Davos, Switzerland. After coming I tried to figure out how to book them and you can have a look at here : https://www.jktdc.co.in/CityHotels.aspx?Cid=3 . I am not sure about the amenities but if you don't have kids, and want a long stay, this would preferably a nice experience. Or may be you can have this booked for just one or two nights for experience and some other private facility. I am definitely exploring them in our next visit in few years.
Coming to this view point, you can visualize the city from the top. This is where the photography skills would have come into help. I did capture these in auto focus mode, but I am sure, this is the right place where manual focus is a much better option to have better pictures. Still the auto focus did not disappoint us.
Wondering why I felt this is the backward of God's home ? The Amarnath Temple, one of our holiest temples, is on the other side of this place, which is Sonmarg. And the physical manifestation of Lord Shiva at Amarnath is all natural - resembling stories from our legends - living with his wife happily at the Amarnath Cave after being manifested into a Lingam made of ice. Soooooo, the nature must have come up with this nice honor for the Lord :)

Those are some views to behold indeed. Stunning snowy panoramas as I remember them from our mountains in winter. Unforgettable trip for you and your family for sure :)
What snowy beauty! Winter wonderland. makes me miss the snow..
glad u and family are all good and had a great trip! :)
The hardest thing about coming home is not enjoying that natural landscape surrounded by snow
Such scenes are truly magnificent and the natural beauty of the place cannot be overstated.
Friend, all these photos you have taken in Kashmir are really amazing and beautiful. And I am sure you enjoyed your Kashmir trip with your family.
We plan to go back in 2-3 years, it was a beautiful experience.
I might be considering going to the resort some day,i am glad you had the best time there.
Ya, you should.
Good captures, all scenic beauty is already in the frame. Once it gets older and when you wish to revisit these memories, nostalgia will hit you. Scorching heat will compel people to make an impulsive tour to such places for sure.
Its already the most sought after destination for Delhites. A direct flight of 2 hrs, they are in heaven.
Is that snow from the top of the mountain? Wow. There's nothing like a nice family experience somewhere like this. The shots were really amazing and one part of photography skills is really knowing how to capture the right view, which you've actually done well.
Yes, maximum zoom with auto focus though. Need to learn the manual zoom.
Your kids, are carbon copies of you guys. I don't know why but I always get amazed by genes doing their thing.
Great pictures as always. Those snow covered mountains look epic.
That's actually quite observable in our life. We do enjoy experiencing them.
Himalaya is the youngest mountain and Gulmarg is really an abode for tourists. I think tourism has revived a lot in Kashmir of late. It's good to see you there with your family. Must have been rejuvenating experience for you and your kids especially.
It is truly rejuvenating , we wished we had few more days.
I read your previous post and you really enjoyed there but for sure leaving a beautiful place is not easy at all. I'm sure you had great memories.
@sanjeevm
Awesome clicks, Kashmir is truly an amazing place. This place in India makes us proud.
True, its a unique experience.
Fine people, fine photos. You have a lovely family.
Finest place as well.
Yeah, absolutely beautiful.
The view is indeed beautiful, and it's similar to the Swiss alps.
Ya, they want to make it alike in terms of facilities.
Great photos of the snow-covered mountain, plus it must be difficult to leave such an incredible place, I imagine you wanted to return very soon
does not feel like coming back.
Majestic scenery! Oh, and you have a beautiful family by the way.
All over, nature has gifted the place.

Wow, the view from this viewpoint is truly breathtaking! It's interesting to learn about the cottages offered by JKTDC and their plans to develop Gulmarg into a ski-resort town like Davos. I can imagine how stunning the place would look covered in snow. And your reference to the Amarnath Temple on the other side of the place adds a spiritual element to the beauty of nature. Thanks for sharing your experience and knowledge with us.
Of course, India is a vast country, but the variety of landscapes it has is shocking! Have a great time, you and your family!
Thank you.
