On Sunday, our dear Filipino friends Jen and Richard invited us to dinner very close to the Taal Volcano.
At Cafe Mary Grace, we not only enjoyed delicious food, but also a great view of the surrounding scenery.

Am Sonntag luden uns unsere lieben philippinischen Freunde Jen und Richard ganz in der Nähe des Taal-Vulkans zum Essen ein.
Im Café Mary Grace genossen wir nicht nur vorzügliche Speisen, sondern auch einen tollen Ausblick auf die uns umgebende Szenerie.

Let's start with some geology before we turn to the food: Large parts of a caldera formed over 100,000 years ago on the island of Luzon with a diameter of 25 to 30 kilometers are occupied by Lake Taal, in which Volcano Island is located, which was created by later volcanic eruptions. Vulcan Point, the world's largest island in a lake on an island in a lake on an island, is located in the crater lake in the middle of this island. :-) |

Sieht schon anders aus als im Saarland, auch wenn die Eifel mit ihren Calderas nicht weit weg war. Die Mango Shakes sind bei Euch aber mit Sicherheit wesentlich besser... :-) :-)
Hat sich der kleine Kobold schon gut eingelebt?
Wie sieht das denn mit der Schule dort aus? Sowas wie eine Schulanwesenheitspflicht wird es ja sicherlich nicht geben, oder?
Danke, 'Klein-Kobold' geht es gut. Und völlig richtig: Es gibt dort keine Schulpflicht. Allerdings hat unserer Tochter ein Besuch in der TISE ("Tropical Innovative School of Excellence") ziemlich gut gefallen, d. h. wenn sie möchte, kann sie ab dem nächsten Schuljahr (beginnt im Juli) dorthin gehen. Gut ist, dass dort immer auch Online-Unterricht möglich ist, falls man z. B. während des Schuljahrs verreist.
Einen Schulgebäudeanwesenheitszwang (nicht -pflicht!) gibt es weltweit meines Wissens nur in China, Nordkorea - und Deutschland (hier übrigens seit 1938, hm, an was erinnert mich diese Jahreszahl nur [grübel grübel]??).

Wow! The setting is incredible. The land looks quite wild and in pristine situation. Very interesting place for adventure too. But the food looks just fantastic! What a great place to have lunch then a walk in the garden. Soon, you’ll see wild bear and tigers emerging out of the forest!!

WOW! You were all so lucky.....having delicious foods among spectacular scenery of the lake and the islands! I can touch the fresh atmosphere from the greenery as well. The garden is so beautiful with a lot of gorgeous artificial white roses and the exotic plants. Your wife, @kobold-djawa, and your little pretty princess look happy. Excellent photos! 😍
This is really this moment, I am very impressed by the beautiful scenery is also very comfortable, hopefully eating together becomes a good memory
Den derzeitigen Dampf Ausbruch aus dem Zentralkrater verfolgen wir live aus Berlin.
Da haben sie echt was verpasst. Unsere Vorzeigeforscher vermelden einen pH-Wert von 0.2 im Kratersee und eine Eruptionssäule von 2.5 km Höhe.
