It's my first time in this contest but I love movies and I enjoy it very much, thanks to @cinetv for this fun horror movie contest let's talk about a great movie
Hereditary
Horror is an interesting genre because normally in your life you don't get scared , it's not normal to be scared in the day as it is to laugh , that's why this kind of movies is not so much about how good or bad it is but if it achieves its purpose to scare you or at least make you uncomfortable , in this case this movie achieve both and it does it with cinematic mastery , all the production design ,photography , direction , performances works very well , the movie manages to suffocate you and trap you let's talk about this movie.
► What you loved or hated about it.
What I love most about this movie is its originality , the movie is really disturbing and has a great script is coherent and enigmatic , it is one of those movies that you finish watching but you last thinking about it for several days because it has many details , and little by little you understand it better in your head.
The central theme of the film is that you never finish knowing people even your own mother as the film puts it , because the mother of the protagonist belongs to a satanic cult and this never told her daughter and did not include her , so the protagonist struggles with all these problems
► How it influenced you (and/or the people around you).
It didn't have a significant influence , but I saw it with a friend and since then we have been looking for another movie that scares us like this one and we haven't found it , several years have passed and every time we get together we look for a horror movie but none has scared us like hereditary.
► What part did you find most interesting?
The ending is very interesting, you don't know if the protagonists are going to survive you see them trapped and cornered, it is very terrifying the final scenes and finally, our heroine loses and the cult manages to bring the demon, it is very shocking that end so desolate, but seen what we saw in the film there was no other way
► Any scene that still comes to your mind.
The first scene and the most shocking of the film is when the girl by eating almond cake gives her an allergic reaction, so when going on the highway fast she asthma her head and hits a pole l which causes her death.
The other scene that impacted me is the mom crying for her daughter and the brother in bed feeling guilty I found it very shocking and very good.
► Acting by the actors/actress that left an impression.
I think Toni Collette does a great job conveying that anguish that feeling of not knowing what is going on, but she knows there is something wrong but she doesn't ,understand it she wants to defend her family and doesn't know how , so she pulls off a great performance.
► Why do you think it's important and great (or not).
Because you always expect the fight against good and evil but here evil wins from minute 1 , there is no fight there is no way to fight , the only way was looking for God but the grandmother of the family never raised her daughter that way ,so they are not religious in a good way , when we see the father interact and we think he is going to do something he just goes up in flames because of the black magic , it is amazing it is fantastic that moment , I think they could only sit and wait for their fatal destiny.
