The process of teaching has influenced the lives of students and people in the society vastly as some have been influenced positively and some influenced negatively. Every student wants a professional teacher as well as every parent wants their children to be taught by the best teachers they can afford.

Teaching is not like other professions where technology is gradually taking over. I discovered that Technology cannot replace teachers but teachers who use technology will definitely replace those who do not use technology.

Is Teaching a profession?

To answer the above question we have to consider the word **profession** >a paid occupation, especially one that involves prolonged training and a formal qualification.- Oxford Dictionary

from the definition we can say teaching is a profession. Professionalism also has a lot to do with a teacher’s state of mind.

Teaching with passion

When a teacher expresses passion for what he/she teaches, students are by default forced to engaged and will always pay great attention. While we had a reunion in one of my almamater a student said this about a teacher. >your passion for Geography and how you taught the concepts made me choose a career in Geography in the University.

The above statement implies that, When you love what you do and can do it well, learners will love it too.

Always remember that teachers are like a candlestick they burn themselves out just to illuminate others.
