Hi everyone. In this education post, I talk about postponed tests. This post is motivated from my tutoring work where I had two cases recently where a test or quiz got moved to a later date.
There are times where scheduled tests may have to be moved to a later date. As I reside in Canada, we sometimes get extreme winter weather that results in snow days. On a snow day, schools are usually closed as it is not safe to be outside or if there is too much snow. Extreme weather is a valid reason for moving a test date.
A test may be moved if the class material is taught at a slower pace than expected. It is not right to have a test the day after all the material is taught. To give students more time, a test may have to be moved later.

One Unusual Case
One of my high schools students is doing an online math course. A proctor has to be there to monitor her for anti-cheating purposes. Her test has to be moved to a later date as the proctor is on vacation during the March Break.
Students may have mixed reviews about postponed tests. Those who did a lot of preparation work and studying may not like a later test date as they want to get it over with. Some can benefit from a later test date to catch up on material that they either missed or found difficult.
