Yesterday I already discussed the three lanes or three homeschooling options that are often selected depending on the needs and goals of the children. Now in that review, there are three types of homeschooling path choices, the first is the academic path, the second is the professional pathway, and the third is entrepreneur education. These three routes offer their own characteristics and can be used according to needs.
However, in today's article, I want to review some important reviews regarding one of the paths that I have mentioned yesterday. Namely, academically based homeschooling.
Well, when new people find out about homeschooling, they often ask what about the diploma, is the curriculum used the same, and whether a homeschooled child can go to university. Well, academic-based homeschooling is the answer to all these questions.
Characteristics of academically based homeschooling.
The school remains a reference.
Even though the educational process is not in formal schools, homeschooling activities continue to make formal schools a reference in their educational structure. The model used is the same, starting from the curriculum, learning materials, and learning evaluation systems. The lessons taught are the same subjects as in school.Exam package.
Children who are homeschooling will take an exam as evaluation, the exam is called the package exam. Each level has a different package, Package A is for elementary schools, package B is for schools equivalent to junior high schools (SMP-INDONESIA RED). Package C for senior secondary school (SMA). This exam is carried out through a community learning activity center.University-oriented.
After receiving the certificate package C, Academically based homeschooling children will be prepared for university. Well, the question of whether children can enter university if they take homeschooling is answered here. children will still get diplomas and have the same opportunity as formal school students to continue their education to universities, the final stage for them to prepare their skills before entering the professional world.
- Non-academic matters are not preferred
Organizational and talent development activities are possible but unimportant. The jargon: other activities should not interfere with the child's focus on learning and preparing for the package exams.
All the examples of levels and systems that I wrote above are examples of the academy homeschooling education that I took in Indonesia. That is, the academic homeschooling procedure focuses more on the same educational activities as formal schools, and also issuing a diploma as the final result of the educational process.
