Adama was very early at Etaha market on Saturday morning to buy some foodstuffs for his mother who was busy with the task of taking care of Mulud her husband who has been I'll for three days now. When Adama had bought everything that he was sent and was about leaving, he felt nothing in his hands again other than emptiness, he couldn't believe his eyes when he saw man on green shirt running away behind him. He shouted "thief" "thief" and ran after the man. Adamu was a winner of his schools inter house sports competition in the relay race. So running after the man was not a big deal.
His shouting attracted other people in the market who chased after the thief who AAA making efforts to run out of the market While running, the police men were contacted and the rushed into the market. The thief was caught and was handed over to the police. At first he denied that he wasn't a thief that he was accused wrongly. For may have believed that he was saying the truth but Adama was brave boy. He shouted, "I know him, he cut my shopping bag off my hands and zoomed offt right before my eyes."
The man had removed his green shirt and was wearing a red shirt to confuse the people. When the police arrived, the took the bag from the thief and took both of them to the police station. At the the station, the police man who was clever wanted to really know whom the owner of bag was. At first, he took Adama to his office and asked him to tell him the items that were in the bag. Adama counted all the items. The same thing was done fol the thief and when it was his turn, he was unable to tell the items that were in the beg. He lied that the bag was his that he gave an old woman money to but things for him.
The policeman knew that he was lying and he called on the young corporal to handcuff the thief and take him to the cell. The sergeant asked him to write down his statement and he was charged to court and taken to prison. When Adama returned, his mum mma Titi had prepared a long cane to flog him with for staying that long in the market even when he knew that his father was I'll. Adama explained the events that took place at the market and the police station to his mum and she was moved with pity for his son.
You are such a brave boy, you should be careful next time she advised her son and took the items from him and made breakfast for the family.
