No.  No, We do not.  When We look to societies, like Tahiti before the "western world" came in and messed it up, where there was plenty for everyOne, an abundance of needed things, no accounting for the energy They added arose.  They did not need to make sure everyOne added Their "fair share."

In these societies, the caring Ones took care of thing, not the psychopaths controlling things as happens in moneyed societies.  The psychopaths learned to be Ethical or be cast out.  The People were caring, creative, loving, giving, joyful, and happy.  There was no poverty.

And We are in "post-scarcity" now (no political baggage attached to that).  There is enough food on Our planet to feed 125% of Us.  But 30-40% spoils before sale.  Money system ensuring Many go hungry.

Add free energy and the point of accounting for Our energy vanishes.  Give it 10 years from the time free energy is released and it will get to the point where it's more effort than it;s worth to collect the penny for the house (or whatever).  This is because 100% of the cost of everything is energy.  The resources sit here freely but it takes energy to put them into useful configuration.

And I ponder relying on electronic bits that one large CME (and We're overdue for one now) will take out planetwide.  Yes, it might knock out free energy devices, too, but they're far easier to build again than an electronic bit collection.

Tahiti is a small community and its example cannot be used as a template for a global community. You will need a value measure for trade. And besides, you can’t uninvent things, @amaterasusolar.

No.  Tahiti had a big enough population where One did not know all the Others.  The key was in the abundance.  In small communities in scarcity environments They expected proof of energy input.  In large communities in scarcity They expected proof of energy input.  In the few societies that developed in abundance, irrespective of size, no energy accounting arose.

And if We retain that archaic and very dangerous tool, We will see poverty and privilege, psychopaths promoted to the top, People having to find ways to plug Their energy in some way and seldom fulfilling Their potential, and most dying unfulfilled.
