The part that gets lost in this shuffle, which includes topics such as reparations, is most Americans at that time had little to do with that. I held this debate with my son some years ago, and using the same idea parameters, all Americans would now be guilty for all the bombs being dropped all over the world, the assassinations, resource theft, etc. The fact is, now like then, the majority is not consulted nor given a say in this. It's those who control policy through violence that are doing it. Those who KNOW they own us because to protest to heavily means much pain/death to not only the protester, but often those they love. As always, the majority is along for the ride whether they approve of it or not.

In a primary election there is no additional run off if a candidate doesn't get more than fifty percent of the vote, that's called a plurality....and no the losers who choose the candidate with the least amount of votes should not get the chance to possibly bump off the top vote getter. In that regard that means someone who wasted their vote on the least viable candidate gets a chance to null mine....no way Jose.

Our sense of "normal" is in a constant state of subtle flux.
Our sense of "normal" is contextual based on our local environment and the sample-biased programming we receive in childhood.
Our sense of "normal" is QUALIA (qualitative, experiential, meaningful, OPINION).
Our sense of "normal" "normally" goes unacknowledged under "normal" circumstances.
Our sense of "normal" predictably shifts as we gain experience and perspective.
There are no "hard targets" regarding our sense of "normal" (integral elements are not explicitly quantified).
Often what we regard as "new" is simply a reversion to historical "norms".
We simply fail to recognize these larger historical patterns because all societies suffer from a persistent cyclical 20 year amnesia (which lends incredible power to rituals and traditions because the "meaning" can be reinterpreted every 20 years or so to suit the whim of the "keepers").

The lockdown may or may not be based on "nothing".

Even (IFF) the "deadly" SARS-2 is "really real" (THEN) the government STILL has ZERO authority to force people to stay in their homes and or deny them the right to free assembly and or force them to wear protective clothing and or wash their hands.
There is ZERO authority for any of these "emergency" "measures".
This would be TRUE even if we were in the middle of a full blown ZOMBIE OUTBREAK.

Implement such a system correctly and you will get the most accurate decisions/leadership in the history of mankind, I'm very sure.
If you like accurate decisions, an electronic democracy could create 99,99% better decisions if implemented correctly, enhancing humanity to survive for all the aeons to come.
So I estimate a total cost of about 200 US to safe the planet and us. A high quality Microphone, some phone calls, news crews and the right person to bring it forward, like a thinking president.
