Directly contributing to hindering sustainable and intelligent progress of humanity. krnel gets votes from mmmkkk (and few other with higher Hive power from this delusional crew) so he can trend is one of the highest earning users.
mmmkkk is even worse althouth not many understand his posts as they are in Polish. His whole blog/comments is one big pile of covid-19/anti vaxxer/anti-GMO/science confusionism nonsense mixed with aggressive bashing of gay, feminists, emigrants, etc

The scientific method is a system that promotes the free exchange of ideas and promotes the rigorous use of LOGIC to disprove falsifiable claims and refine existing hypotheses.
Injecting doubt, general skepticism, and even hare-brained hypotheses into the public discussion STRENGTHENS our critical assumptions.
Regarding "dangerous ideas", many people believe that Islamic ideology is a "dangerous idea".
Would you like to live in a world were all "dangerous ideas" were "canceled from the trending page"?
Many people feel threatened by ideas and beliefs they do not hold personally.
There is nothing to be afraid of.
As soon as someone starts to be afraid of ideas, they become actively anti-intellectual.
Some people believe in ghosts and horoscopes, others believe these are "dangerous ideas".
We currently live in a world (IRL) where you can "upvote" a show or movie or a news article by watching it (giving it your attention) and there are various measures to gauge how much attention a "story" is getting. People even have the option of "upvoting" a content creator by either buying their products or buying the products advertised adjacent to their "story".
Now imagine we lived in a world where you could "downvote" a show or movie or a news article that you considered "dangerous" or "inappropriate" by spending some of your energy or resources in order to reduce its visibility to others (or add some sort of prominent warning based on your whim). Imagine you could "downvote" a content creator directly by taking pending revenue out of their assignment and reassigning that same revenue into a pool that would go instead to those who received upvotes with the highest totals (TOP EARNERS).
Wouldn't this inevitably lead to a world were ONLY the most popular content creators could survive?
Wouldn't this inevitably lead to a world where the SAME "popular" content and the SAME "popular" creators would be given an unfair advantage by virtue of their ever-growing "upvote"/"downvote" power?
The more votes they get, the more control they have over the ATTENTION ECONOMY.
Imagine if the Catholic Church had successfully "downvoted" Galileo (or Martin Luther) for their "dangerous ideas".
The "solution" isn't to knock stuff of the trending page.
The "solution" is to teach people how to distinguish FACT from OPINION.

Actually I do consider it very dangerous. Just as Christian ideology and many other.
I look at both objectively by evaluating their scriptures' teaching (foundations of these ideologies).
These dangerous ideologies should go the same objective scrutiny as any other. Just because they are dominating ideologies, it does not mean that they should have a pass.
I consider them both "modern Nazism". They both teach about hate and/or discrimination towards those that do not believe that ideology and follow its rules. They are full of homophobia, pseudoscience, misogyny, also anti-Semitism. They are built upon ultimate slavery and obedience to the ultimate leader (in this case imaginary which probably makes it even worse).

I am not afraid of ideas and have never said that I am. What I am afraid of is the world being taken over by imbeciles even more than it already is (sorry for my direct language). Particularly now when we are facing climate disaster.
We all share this planer, one environment we are part of. It is crucial that other people around me are scientifically literate and sustainably informed because this directly improves the quality of my life and my chances of survival. Intellectual idiocy such as delusional beliefs and pseudoscience pervading around directly deteriorate lives of all of us.

It is logically fallacious argument. Catholic church was trying to destroy and silence scientific discovery. Actually the actions of Catholic church are exactly the example of dangerous ideas (Christian ideology) in action. Their actions were not driven by knowledge, facts and objective reasoning but rooted in delusional ideas.
Please do not compare cognitively deficient, scientifically illiterate imbeciles spreading covid-19, flat earth, NWO, climate change denialism conspiracy "theories and pseudoscience in general to scientific discoveries like that of Galileo :-)

These are principles of science. Science is about humble "I do not know", "We will never know everything".
I fight for science and eradicating pseudoscience should be one of social priorities as long as we don't make sure that society is scientifically literate. Pseudoscience is dangerous to everyone not just those that believe in it. It is as dangerous as someone posting Nazi/fascist ideology around social media with false facts and lies about different subjects, people and events exploiting people's poor education, ignorance and poor cognitive abilities in assessing the information, facts and general inability to recognize logical fallacies.
For now, all we can do is to fight it to be removed on social media.
It hard fight and often seems futile as social media have been taken over by pseudoscience.
As long as we do not introduce proper scientific education and teaching about scientific method and recognition of logical fallacies already to small kids (in schools and home), the society will just keep repeating the cycle of ignorance.
I am all for transforming the system of education but for now we need to fight pseudoscience.
I personally to not "believe" in anything. I just consider possibilities of existence of something according to what science has discovered so far. New scientific data arrives, I update the information. There is no belief.
