CULTIVATING THE HABIT OF GRATITUDE

Hey guys,it's actually my first time writing in this community, yesterday I came across a message which is really knowledgeable and impactful so I decided to share it on this platform to help out in little ways I can.

Like my headline said GRATITUDE
Before I continue,GRATITUDE is defined as "a strong feeling of appreciation to someone or something
for what the person has done to help you".

Now there are lots of areas in which you need to be grateful either to God or to your fellow man,my talk today will be based on a lot of reasons why people find it hard to be grateful... I understand a lot of people are full of regrets,maybe because of how they couldn't fulfil the goals they laid down to achieve or loads of stuffs they wanted to do but they couldn't,just because you didn't achieve your goals this year doesn't mean you cant achieve it next year, next year is another opportunity to restrategise, know your faults, what you shouldn't have done, people you needed to abstain from,fueds you needed to end etc.
Even as this year is coming to an end now forget about the cars,clothes,mansions you didn't buy and be grateful for the free oxygen you're inhaling and exhaling, especially in a year that was full of pandemic and destructions.

REASONS WHY PEOPLE FIND IT DIFFICULT TO SHOW GRATITUDE

1.DISCONTENTMENT : when you're not satisfied with what you have,you find it hard to be grateful either to God or man,so learn to appreciate whatever you have at the moment and work on how to improve.

2.ANXIETY : you're anxious cause you don't know what's next, forgetting that too much anxiety is harmful and the time, resources needed to achieve your goal when opportunity presents it's self would be wasted.

3.ARROGANCE : you feel nobody is worthy of your gratitude, because you are where you are today because of your handwork and your sweat,well your wrong ..work on yourself.

4.FOCUSING ONLY ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE OF THINGS : I'll give an example on this you wake up in the morning and you discovered you're hungry and no food in the house,instead of working towards ways to get money,you decide to be grumpy and sad, forgetting being alive is a gift worth more than food,a dead man wouldn't worry about food....think about that.

5.HOLDING UNTO GRUDGES : A teacher once gave a set of students an apple to keep,which they did and every week she asks after the apple,on the third week all the students began to complain that the apple had rotten and the horrible stench coming out was suffocating.... similarly keeping grudges would harm you because you would be free to live your life the way you want..so let go of unnecessary grudges.

I'll close this brief write up by saying cultivating GRATITUDE is a very important attribute every body as to possess.
Never forget that when your appreciate the little you have,you are bound to get more,it's the nature of life ⚡
