Shoveling, Moving, BISON and Grilling - Thursday

in ecoTrain2 years ago

Woke up to more snow yesterday morning. We got another 2 inches overnight but luckily it was a nice and fluffy snow that was easy to move. After shoveling our path the the tub we had a normal morning soak as @stryeyz had to go to work.

First thing I went out and shoveled around the gate to allow it to close properly. I did just enough to allow it to work as there was more snow on the way towards us later in the day. I figured there was no reason to go shovel if more was going to be falling.

Most of my morning was spent getting this shelving unit unloaded of everything then moved to the living room. It has been filled with a variety of things in the corner of our bedroom for years and I was rather happy to see it out of there.

This spot in the bedroom hasn't been exposed in at least 8 years. It was well before J was born that I last shifted the room around. There is tell tale signs of the mice that have come and gone that left debris and crap spread across the carpet. It will be so nice to have the carpeting out of the last room in the house.

The snow came and went and it gave us just a dusting. So I went out and finished the snow shoveling. I was nearly done when @stryeyz got home from work early. The few inches of snow moved easily so it didn't take me terribly long to get it done.

Once she was home and I finished shoveling we drove North to Lone Crow to pickup our quarter of bison. We have a box of ground and a box of steaks.

The steaks are insane! They look gorgeous and have a beautiful marbling to them. The sirloin tips steaks look nice and lean and the fat layers on the various cuts are not too big. The average hanging weight of the bison are about 500 pounds then remove the bone weight each probably weighed about 350 pounds. Our boxes each weigh about 40 pounds so we got about 80 pounds of finished meat.

I got a fire going in the fire pit so it could build a nice amount of coals while we went and soaked.

Our early evening soak while I let the fire burn and the steaks thaw.

Our first meal from the bison was a gorgeous pack of t-bone steaks.

When I went out to get the steaks grilling I found the snow around the edge of the fire pit had melted out in a really cool look. The heat had melted the snow in cool spike like patterns around it.

I got my steak on to grill and let it go for a while before getting @stryeyz's on since she likes hers bloody and mooing.

OMG is this bison delicious. It is amazingly good and if it weren't for the price I would be eating bison over beef the rest of my life. I have a deep seated belief that cows give sloth and bison gives energy. A bison is genetically made for running long distances across the plains. Cows are slower and less athletic than bison. The whole idea that you are what you eat....

After our delectable dinner we ended our night soaking.

Today will be more moving of the bedroom stuffs to try to get to the carpet, we are going to be eating bison for our last meal of the year, I'll get the bale rolled into the sheep pen, and we will try to put the last 2 years behind us and go forth into the plandemic free new year. To those of you who bought the lie I'm sorry for you and the choices you made in fear. This new year is the chance for you to do what you can to reverse the poisons you put into your bodies.

Gorgeous, gorgeous cuts! Everything looks amazing what a wonderful way to ring in the new year!

How long will the 80# last you?

I've also started, slowly, on the upstairs bedroom. It needs painted and the carpet cleaned. Then I can set it up as a guest room.
