God had a perfect plan for man from the beginning. Among all the things God created, man is the most important. The fact that man was created in God's image attest to this fact. The original plan of God for man, was not to punish man; man was supposed to live in pleasure and enjoy the good things in the garden of Eden. The Bible says that all have sin and fall short of the glory of God. From the moment man disobeyed God, sin came into the world, and sin itself brings suffering to the whole humanity. God says in his word, " I know the thought that I think towards you, thought of peace and not of evil; to give u an expected end(a end and a hope) the Bible also said in the gospel of 3 John 1: 2 "beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in good health, even as your soul prospers.
All these are to draw our attention to the fact that God himself does not wish people to suffer. The Bible say, the thief comes to kill and to destroy, but Jesus said he came to give us life. People sometimes mistake poverty for holiness, for the fact that you are a Christian does not mean that you should suffer. Man suffer as a result of disobedience to God's instructions. Secondly, for the fact that there is God does not mean that we won't suffer. As long as we are in the world, we have to face troubles and tribulations. Suffering will never stop because the world isn't getting better, rather things are getting worst day by day. New events are unveiling, cases of diseases, war, famine, disaster and so on. It's only when one dies that he actually gets free from suffering. Every human being who are living on planet Earth must face one problem other. Even the Bible also attest to the fact that in this world we shall have tribulations, but we should be of good cheers ; that He has overcome the world. Suffering is part of human existence. Nothing good can actually come on a bed of roses. We need need to work and toil for us to achieve something in life. Man had lost his original place of pleasures back then in the garden of Eden. God told man that he will be in pains in order to survive. For us to fulfill our plans and purpose on Earth, we must work for it. That is normal, wether you believe in the existence of God or not, whether you are a Christian or not, despite your religion and denominations. Everyone has to pass through hard times in order to achieve anything in life. Nothing comes on a platter of gold.

- Another thing that causes suffering in our society today is bad leadership: we live in a society where leaders think of themselves alone instead of serving the interest of the public. Funds(money) that are supposed to be used for the betterment of people's lives are diverted into private Puckett to the detriment of the populace. Most people who finds themselves in positions of authority tend to be very selfish and self centered, they live in pleasures and luxury at the expense of the people they are serving.
- Corruption has also been one of the reasons why people suffer. Some Government official misappropriate funds that are supposed to be use in building infrastructures and see to the welfare of citizens. Some involves in money laundering and so on.
- Another reason is untapped natural resources: many societies today are endowed with abundance natural resources, but the inability to discover and utilize such natural resources makes them poor, thereby leading to suffering.
- Inability to discover one's talent: every person is naturally endowed with great talents. Some people have not yet discovered what the can do to live a better life. Some allow the talents to die in them instead of discovering and making use of them. Once you discover your God's given talents, you can actually be the person the world is looking for.
- Poverty: many people will desire to live a good life, but they don't actually have the resources at their disposal. Poverty entails being poor and not being able to take care of one's basic needs. When you are poor in life, you are bound to suffer, because you won't be able to provide yourself with basic needs like good food, hospital bills, rents and other basic necessities.
