I have read about this contest few days ago and really wanted to participate but was so pre-occupied with a lot of things such that the thought or the desire of trying to submit my answer to the question just slip away.

Good that I had bumped into it again and here I am trying to create my share hopefully I could catch up with the deadline.

So this will be my very first entry, I have seen a lot of previous questions to answer and regret I was not able to participate even once since this contest started.

My personal views and answer to #ecoTrain Question Of The Week #15: Why do we fall in love with certain people and why it is so hard to get over someone?

WHY DO WE FALL IN LOVE?

This question may sound easy to answer, such that even small kids have the capacity to discern why people do fall in love.

I can say easy because humans as we are we all fall in love, maybe to the right person or to someone not meant to be.

Well, falling in love happens for a reason. It’s like our brain and heart are set up to support such wonderful feelings.

And if you believe in destiny, you will understand why all of a sudden you got these feelings that you cannot easily decipher why it happens.

Well, compatibility plays a big role. When we feel we are compatible with someone else, we see traits in him or in her that we don’t see in another person, it seems that there emerges a selective magnetic force that draws us to that person, the happiness we felt every time we’re together and the excitement to see that person again would somehow develop into a more intense feeling of love.
I believe it all starts with compatibility.

We fall in love with people we are attracted too. Perhaps when we see people whom we admire both for his or her beauty and ability or how he or she handles life in general, the mere attraction could grow into a more intimate feeling without you knowing it or expecting it to happen. So it’s not necessarily what you would expect. It won’t even be felt to a person a lot of people think you would fall into.

So this means, being given the ability to love someone, falling in love is something we can consider as one that is out of our control.

This is evident with people falling in love with the wrong person. Because we cannot control it or expect when it would happen or choose it to happen with someone we really love, we oftentimes fall to the wrong person. And that would be a start of pain and even miseries.

This also makes love a mystery. This is the reason why we fall in love with someone and not to another person. We will never fully understand why…

Communication could be one of the most decisive factors in love. If you feel a certain affinity to a particular person after having a conversation, if you feel comfortable talking to him or her with, if you wish you could talk to that person tomorrow and the next day then you’re even more likely to stay with that person. And that could be a start.

But then again, as I’ve mentioned earlier, there is so much mystery in love. There are definitely things that we cannot explain. Like falling to someone far from the expectations of other people. And it’s due to such mystery that you see people being in love with each other, living together against all odds.

Overall, since we are humans capable to love and be loved, we may fall in love with someone we least expected and during the time you never expect it to happen.

To fall in love is inherent to every person, so whether you like it or not you will surely fall in love with someone at the right time.

WHY IT IS SO HARD TO GET OVER SOMEONE?

The answer to the second question could be rooted in my explanation above. People fall in love mysteriously, falling in love with a person you don’t expect and during the time you least expect to happen.

When we love someone we are physically and emotionally attached to that person sometimes becomes dependent with. Such that we feel we cannot go on with our lives without that person on our side.

Breakups can do a lot of damage to one’s mental health that could mean getting over is the hardest thing to do.

Loving is giving your all, surrendering everything to the point that you would feel nothing left for you to keep. And that made it hard to get over to that person whom we love.

That feeling of losing a big part of your life, a feeling of being neglected or rejected makes one having a hard time getting over.

Conclusion: THE BEST REMEDY

Personally, when people experience heartbreaks, the best remedy, solution or cure to such pain is to find the person destined to be yours forever. It may take time but being alone will make the pain worst. You need someone to talk to, a shoulder to cry on, or a person you can confide with.

And in time, things will run just fine with you. Falling in love, breakups, and getting over it is part of life, we need to face it even if how hard and painful it could be.
