For the past week rain didn't stop falling. It's good for the plants of course. Especially this part of the mountain where water can't be found. Plants need water and not just the heat of the sun. Although when the rain didn't stop I did nothing. Like getting woods to use as firewood. Cleaning the grasses surrounding the plants. That's why I waited for the sun to come out. Today it was great weather. The sun was so hot like burning my skin. It's fine because I asked it.
At 8 in the morning, I started walking towards the mountain. The road was not that wet and slippery. I arrived in the land where my brother and I planted corn. By looking at the area. I noticed the grasses that we removed were growing again. The most hassled grass was named "pakaw." It's like leaves of sugar cane. We cut it before and now it's starting to cover the small corns. It's only 3 weeks since we cut and yet it's growing so fast.
That was my brother in this photo. He was removing a "pakaw" by using a not so long hard metal. He was digging the grass from its main roots. This was to make sure that it will not grow back. It took so much time because it's not easy to remove. Let me show you a closer look with this grass I'm talking about.
This was my hand holding a "bolo." I was removing the "pakaw" by digging the land that surrounds it. I did it that way because the bolo was small to hit that grass and just remove it right away. My brother just borrowed one "bara" so I had no choice but to use bolo. My hands were aching because it was hard to remove it. But I must remove or else the corn will not grow well.
I only spent 4 hours working there. I planned to bring firewood at home. A week has passed already since I brought firewood. It was not a long hour of work but I still managed to do something. If the nice weather will continue I will be back there again. As you can see in the image above the grasses were starting to grow everywhere.
I just hope that it will grow nice. It will bear good fruits when the time comes. We can't assure what will happen but I think it depends on taking care of the plants.

Congratulations, your post has been selected to be included in my weekly Sustainability Curation Digest for the Minnow Support Project.
It's a big piece of land, it must be hard work, but of course with the right care the plant will grow and bear good fruit.
Yeah it was but it's fun..
