If you truly wish to grow, acknowledge your dark side

Ahaaa those Be positive, think positive and everything will be positive. All the time we keep hearing this, but no one wants to confront the dark side and why is that.

How does one come out of the rabbit hole if one does not acknowledge the complete whole of themselves. It is good to be positive and that is what is our ultimate aim to be in that frequency where everything is vibrating in the energy of love and compassion, but at the same time we cannot overlook the dark side, the shadow sides of us.

Being in a positive state of mind is a process and it just does not happen overnight, when one fine day suddenly you get up and you think that from today onwards I want to be positive.
Have you ever noticed, that when you decide that you will think only positive and do only positive the more you will have negative forces coming into your space. and why does that happen. Because when you just decide to be positive, you have actually not addressed the underlying issues within. And the moment we start suppressing something within us, it tries to find out gaps and then explode in a more ferocious way.

And all days are not same, today it is pleasant and tomorrow there will be some challenges. On a pleasant day it is very easy to be positive, think positive, but is it equally easy on a challenging day. If the whole process has not happened within, one will crumple up very easily to the challenging day.

We all have a dark side and that is ok. The whole of the universe is in duality, so is our own existence so then why run away from it and why not accept and embrace it. Living in a state of singularity may not be actually very healthy for us.
We are identified as humans because we have emotions and if we kill these emotions we will be nothing but robots.

So it is ok to react in whatever way you feel, but the lesson to learn is how to balance. Anything in extreme is not very good, so acknowledging the flow of emotions and then reflecting on them and working on them is the best way to move forward. That is when you truly accept your own shadows and allow them to disappear with ease.

Our Dark side means our flaws, limitations, anti social behavior, aggressiveness, unacceptable behavior. We do not want these to be publicly showcased so we are covering it up superficially to show that we are perfect and that we cannot think negative or bad, and we are all positive, but the fact is that if the good exist the bad does too and we need to accept that the 2 sided coin will always be there, it is just the different degree of the darkness within us.

Sometimes when I get angry over something, my husband passes a comment saying. You do Meditation and all, then why do you get angry. I tell him, that I am not angry all the time, but yes certain situations if they are not appropriate that emotion will emerge but that does not mean that emotion controls me, it is a temporary surge and passes off.

Realization and Acceptance


If we understand that we have a dark side the most important is to first accept that we have a dark side and we need to work on it. Realization and Acceptance are the most important things to manage this problem. No one is perfect and we all have flaws in some or the other way but we can always work towards it. Our dark side is like our shadow it will always follow us, we cannot run away from it.

Seek Help


When we want to deal with any problem it is good to seek help from someone who is more capable of guiding us and helping us out. Release the fear of judgment, the fear of how will people perceive me if my dark side is exposed. The end goal is I want to be a better ME

Releasing the EGO


Our Ego is the main culprit for many of our problems in life, we do not like to surrender and show that we have weak areas in our life. Ego refuses to take help, tries to show I am strong, I am perfect. If we can let our Ego rest and think of our growth in real sense, can we work towards our dark side.

This journey will bring in a lot of confusion, we may not be able to determine who we exactly are, the process is demanding but when we are able to embrace our dark sides, accept the complete self, remove the superficial mask, we see there is a whole new world of possibilities. If we are able to strengthen our capacity, that's when in real sense we will become positive, think positive and act positive.

True, same here. I have been through it and it makes me feel more drained out at times rather then uplifting
