Are you the victim of the story or your own hero?

That used to be me - complaining about my circumstances, bathing in the victim mentality, finding something or someone to blame when life didn't turn out to match my expectations. Let it be reaching those fitness goals, going for the healthy meals, moving forward in one's healing journey.

I think at the end it was all the work on my personal development, spiritual and mindfulness practices but also traveling that taught me otherwise. Since when you are stuck at night with a flat tyre on your scooter in the middle of nowhere in Bali, you soon realise that complaining won't get you far. And a lot of such little moments helped me to learn my lesson:

Life doesn't happen to you, it happens for you.

If you are ever in an uncomfortable situation - this is not life punishing you, it's an invitation for you to find a solution, get into a new mindset, change your habits, create a new approach on life and to deal with your challenges.

Sure, we might get some short-lived attention from complaining and blaming, but it won't help us to actually move forward.

Are you ready to get into the driver's seat?

Then try to realise whenever you are starting to complain about something - either out loud or in your mind - and stop right there. Instead entertain these thoughts...

Today, I will take extra good care of my body.
Today, I choose to nourish myself with lots of fruits, greens and veggies.
Today, I want to move my body.
Today, I decide to take my life into my own hands.
Today, I will start the change that helps me to move forward.

Have a wonderful day
