Community - Creating Abundance For Us All!

in ecoTrain2 years ago

When Lockdown happened and we realised that our lives were going to change forever, I met with a few people, inspired to start a collective, where we the people would look after one another, support one another and step into our sovereignty. We met up regularly to discuss how we could achieve this and one thing we decided on was to do pop up rastros/markets every two weeks. So that we could support one another financially.

Yesterday, me and my girls attended one of the markets, which have been running for just over 2 years now. This time, it was at a friends place, where we transformed his property in to a little market place, where anyone is welcome to come and sell their creations. We also have our own currency, which can be used on the market, by all who are registered and hold an Arco Book.

There is always a wonderful selection of homemade food and drinks available. With most of the ingredients organic and homegrown. My girls are always at me to but them cake when we come to the market, luckily there are always vegan, sugar free cakes available.

There is always lots of people selling their jewellery as well. I love that we get to support the people in my community. One good friend of mine, makes these awesome badges and magnets out of bottle tops. You can see some of them in the above picture. They are a favorite with all of the kids. I love to see them running around, with the latest designs on, they really do make great birthday presents as well.

Yes was a super hot day and right in the center of the market, was this beautiful mulberry tree. It gives the best shade, with branches that are so inviting. It was covered in mulberries, but unfortunately they were not yet ripe. My friend was doing Tarot readings under there, as well as a lovely couple selling more jewellry.

A friend of mine arrived, with the most delicious homemade ice lollies, for kids and adults alike. They were a huge hit, everyone who came to the market got to enjoy one. They were sugar free and organic. There is nothing better than a ice lolly on a hot day, today it was another scorcher and I was fantasizing about them lol.

Like I said earlier, there is always a few people selling jewellery. Some of the jewellery from this stall was from India, but the Orgonite necklaces, where handmade by the person who was running the stall. Orgonite, creates a high energy field and strengthens our magnetic field. They raise our vibration and increase our balance and vitality.

My youngest daughter, kept bringing me over to this stall, anting to show me her favourite ones. Each one is a mix of metals, quartz crsytal, and synthetic resin. Unfortunately the picture did not come out very well, so it is hard to see some of the designs. But my daughters favourites had a tree, in oneand a fairy in another. I was personally drawn to the one with mushrooms in it. (I wonder why, lol).I didn't have enough money yesterday to invest in some, but I would like to get one each for me and my girls, especially as they offer protection from EMF (Electromagnetic pollution).

There was a wonderful chill out area on the land that was wonderful to escape to, during the hottest part of the day. There was a steady flow of people all day, who came by and bought some things and socialised. I had my own stall as well, but I forgot to take a picture of it. I was selling some raw chocolate balls and some kids clothes and wind chimes. It feels good to have the money we earn, stay within our community, as we all either trade or buy from one another.

One of my favourite stalls was this one above, a guy who has been using clothes to help spread awareness about what is happening in the world, I think we should all play a part in planting seeds and this is a great way to do it. He altered lots of clothes, as well as making some awesome patches and badges.

I couldn't resist buying some patches from him, which were all for donation. I plan to put them on some of my clothes and maybe one or two on the bag I will be taking to the airport. I couldn't resist the animal peace one and the hell one. Shell have been destroying the Irish coastline for a while now, so this one really called out to me.

I loved the Love Pirates one, as I recently went to the very first Love Pirates Festival and it was so fun. I will be helping to create a extra space in the next one. I just loved the turtle and bird design and couldn't pass by the no pollution, revolution one.

I'm leaving for Ireland in 2 days and I will be away for three weeks. I am looking forward to visiting, as it has been almost 3 years since I was there. But I sure will miss our community markets, but know that they will be here when I return.

I absolutely love this! It's essential we find ways to build community, support each other, and find ways to connect. And your point about the money staying within the community is so important. Knowing you have a safe, regular space to trade with others is so valuable.

Thanks @adventurousnerd for you wonderful comment xxxx

I really appreciate this post. Thank you! People here in Lower Puna, in far East Big Island of Hawai'i have been doing a very similar thing in terms of doing their own thing, supporting each other, and creating a local economy. There are multiple weekly markers here like the one you describe.

That is so great to hear @tydynrain, it's so important to focus on what we can do xxxx

It's a great thing when people come together to support themselves. Buy what I sell and I will buy what you sell, it makes everyone happy and live in peace. With unity comes a great community.

I wish you journey mercy to Ireland 🙏

I wish you a lovely trip, amiga.

I just returned from the Netherlands ( 6 day trip ) and although I had a good time,
I am exhausted now.

Un grande abrazo!

Thanks Vincent xxxx

Oh these stalls are great, and it's so super cool you have your own currency as well. I would have chosen the mushroom one as well ahaha, mushroom sister! Oh it's nice you are going to Ireland! I can't believe it's been three years, I remember that debacle at the airport last time.

I hope that one day you can get to come visit xxxxx

Have a safe trip in Ireland!!! This community looks like totally my jam!
