Sometimes I sit down and think about how fast everything don change, especially with this computer age wey don enter everybody life, especially youths. Honestly, if person talk say the world dey move like speed train, I go believe am, because everywhere you turn now, you go see phone, laptop, tablets, even small children wey never sabi tie shoe dey operate gadget like say dem born with it. And me too, I dey look am sometimes and wonder how things for be if technology no rush come like this.
For many youths today, computer no be just machine, it’s like part of their body. Some dey use am for school, some for business, some for cruise, and some just dey scroll anyhow because na the only way dem fit escape stress. But anyhow we look am, computer age don change the way we think, talk, learn and even behave. Before, parents go shout make we go library or carry textbook, but now, everything dey one click. Even things wey we no suppose know too early, internet go just pour am out like rain.
As a Nigerian youth, I don see how technology dey open mind well-well. Opportunities wey person no fit imagine before, like learning skill, doing remote job, or even connecting with people across world, na normal thing today. But sometimes, I feel say e still carry its own wahala because youths dey addicted, comparing lives, losing focus, or thinking say success dey easy because of wetin dem see online.
Still, I no go lie, computer age help many of us. Some people learn graphics, coding, writing, social media, trading, all from YouTube or Google. Even me, some things wey I know today, nobody teach me. Na computer. Our parents generation no get am like this, they believe more in manual work, but us, we dey grow inside digital market wey no dey close.
But I feel say balance dey important. Computer fit make youth smart, but fit also make person forget real life. If we learn to use am well, no doubt the future go bright pass wetin we dey imagine. Life don truly change, but na how we use this computer age go show who go climb and who go fall.
