Sweet Home Review
Hi Korean Hive Village.!
Welcome to my blog again.
Have you ever watched the Netflix series Sweet Home.?? The story is about apartment residents who have to survive attacks from strange monsters.
Sweet Home Season 1 is really tense from start to finish. The story is heavily focused on Green Home, an isolated apartment. The residents truly feel like they are trapped in hell. They have to face monsters that are manifestations of human repressed desires. There’s a muscle monster that loves to work out, a slime monster that likes to spy, and many others. Each monster has a unique story and motivation that makes us shiver while thinking "How can human desires become this terrible.??".

The coolest thing about season 1 is the main character "Cha Hyun-su". He starts as a depressed guy who wants to commit suicide but ends up becoming a hero because he transforms into a monster while retaining human consciousness. He must fight against his own monster side while protecting those around him. I really feel connected to this character. He's not a superhuman hero, but a fragile and relatable one. Plus, the visual effects are incredible! The monsters are realistic and disgusting. The cinematography is also excellent, every monster fight scene feels incredibly intense and suspenseful.

This season is truly a masterpiece..!! This film successfully combines elements of horror, thriller, drama, and action... Every character from the main characters to supporting characters plays a crucial role in the story. We see how humans react under extreme pressure, some become heroes, some become cowards, and others lose their minds. All these elements make Sweet Home Season 1 an unforgettable watch.

Sweet Home Season 2
When watching Sweet Home Season 2, I felt a significant shift in the story. It’s no longer just set in Green Home. After managing to escape the apartment, the survivors are taken to a special base managed by the military. Many new characters are introduced, and we get a glimpse of the outside world that has also been devastated.

In season 1, we focused on the mystery of "why do these monsters exist", while in season 2, it shifts to "how can we survive in a world full of monsters?". The story gets bigger. We see the conflict between the military with its own goals, scientists trying to find a cure, and survivors who just want to survive.

Some people say that season 2 has a slower pace and I agree. But for me, it feels like a bridge connecting to season 3. There are so many unanswered questions and new conflicts being introduced. We get to know more about the origins of the monsters and the relationship between monsters and humans. The characters also continue to develop. For example, Cha Hyun-su who is increasingly mastering his powers, or new characters who each have their own secrets and motivations...

Season 2 is very different from season 1, but that doesn't mean it's bad and not recommended to watch... It has its own strengths in expanding the story. We learn that the problem isn't just confined to one apartment, but has become a global disaster. While the pace is slower, I feel this is necessary to build the foundation for a larger, more complex story in the following seasons...
Why K-Movies Are So Popular?
Korean movies often have unusual stories. They dare to tackle taboo or sensitive themes like social, psychological, or even supernatural issues. Sweet Home is one of them, isn't it? Its story about a monster born from human desires is truly unique....
Korean actors and actresses are truly dedicated. They can portray characters from the most innocent to the most evil in a very convincing way. So, we can really feel the emotions and suffering of the characters...
The Korean film industry takes visuals very seriously. They dare to spend a large budget to create impressive visual effects, especially for sci-fi or horror films.

Who is Nur Satrio ?
Hi, I'm Tio, a lover of stories, whether written on the pages of a book, presented in adventurous games, or engraved in the incredibly beautiful nature of Indonesia. In my free time, I like to immerse myself in fictional worlds, build small worlds by assembling Gundam models, and explore new places that offer fresh air and soothing views.
For me, life is not about how fast we run, but how much beauty we get to enjoy along the way. I believe that every book has a universe, every journey has a story, and every second we spend in nature is a quiet expression of gratitude that calms the heart.

I only saw season 1 of that K-drama and liked it quite a bit at the time, but the other seasons didn't capture my attention as much.
