Project Silence is one movie I have been procrastinating about writing a review on, and that is because it is so interesting. I wanted to give it my all in making a really good review about it, but circumstances left me with no other option than to pick it and finally write about it as a response to this community's contest.
It is a Korean movie that was released in 2023, and I have joined a numerous number of others who are waiting for the release of part two, if it is ever going to happen.
On a foggy night along a very long bridge, an accident happens and road users in their vehicles become trapped in their cars. While waiting for the bridge to clear, the real problem occurs. A group of soldiers are still on the road, transporting dogs that are caged in a large container. By mistake, they let their monstrous dogs loose, and the dogs begin to attack everyone on the bridge. The dogs are meant to be controllable by the doctor who is with them, but at that moment, the doctor loses control and everything is ruined.
What started as a simple accident on a foggy bridge—an incident that looked like it would eventually return to normal—suddenly became a national threat. It was no longer just a danger to the people trapped on the bridge, but also to government bodies who were secretly behind the breeding of these dogs.
The movie is filled with emotions and suspense. Strangers who met by chance along the way became like a family, fighting together for survival. They witnessed the deaths of people among them, and those scenes struck very hard emotionally.
When the situation became extremely intense, soldiers were sent in to rescue the trapped civilians. However, the dogs were fearless and attacked the soldiers viciously, to the extent that the soldiers had to run for their lives and retreat.
The way this movie ends strongly suggests that there should be a part two coming. Unfortunately, with the look of things, it seems the idea has been kicked into the void. Still, I sincerely hope that part two gets released someday.
